Ahead of Chuseok, I decided to have dinner with my youngest aunt and my mom, something we hadn't done in a while. Since my aunt lives near Dongseong-ro, we looked for a restaurant close to her place and ended up booking Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch, well known as a Dongseong-ro favorite.

Where Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch is, and where to park

Dana Dongseong-ro Main Branch is within a 5-minute walk of Banwoldang Station Exit 10, where Daegu subway lines 1 and 2 meet. Since it sits right in the busy heart of Dongseong-ro, there's no dedicated parking or parking support. We left the car at my aunt's place and walked over, but if you're driving, it's best to use one of the nearby paid parking lots.

First customers at the 5 p.m. reopening: inside Dana

We'd originally booked a 6 PM slot on Naver Reservation, but arrived earlier than planned. Without really meaning to, we ended up being the very first customers through the door right when break time ended and the store reopened at 5 PM.

The interior isn't huge, but it's decorated with a stylish, moody sensibility. The front is all window glass, which keeps things open and airy rather than cramped, and the street view through the windows adds to the atmosphere. The 2nd and 3rd floors are styled with slightly different concepts, so it was fun looking around, and the cute little props scattered near the entrance caught my eye too.

Every pasta 12,500 won: what the three of us ordered

We took a table right beside the 2nd-floor window wall. As soon as we sat down, a staff member kindly brought over the menu. This place is known within Dongseong-ro as a great-value pasta spot, and sure enough, every pasta on the menu was priced the same at ₩12,500 regardless of type. After some back-and-forth over what to order, we decided on the signature pizza set plus one extra pasta dish to share.

The signature pizza set includes baked risotto, one pizza, and a soda. We picked the half-and-half pizza so we could try both margherita and pepperoni at once, and ordered the cheongyang chili cream pasta, the restaurant's signature dish, as our extra. After a short wait, everything arrived at the table. All three dishes were plated cleanly and neatly, looking pretty delicious.

The baked risotto in the signature set

We started with the baked risotto. The outside is a crisply baked bread shell, and the inside is packed with risotto cooked with bacon, shrimp, and a special sauce. Cutting into it with a knife and taking a bite, the nutty, crunchy texture of the bread crust blended nicely with the soft, savory risotto inside. The bite of the shrimp and the salty flavor of the bacon spread through the mouth without clashing with the special sauce.

Margherita and pepperoni half-and-half pizza

Next up, the half-and-half pizza — being able to enjoy two flavors at once with no extra charge felt like great value. The dough was baked thin-crust style, making it easy to enjoy without feeling too heavy.

Both the margherita, with its bright tomato and basil aroma, and the pepperoni, topped with salty pepperoni, had a clean flavor that wasn't overdone, and thanks to the thin crust, the crispness held up all the way through.

Cheongyang chili cream pasta (spicy green chili cream)

The signature cheongyang chili cream pasta (청양고추크림파스타) struck a good balance between the richness of the cream sauce and the sharp kick of cheongyang chili peppers.

The heat from the cheongyang chili cleanly cut through the greasiness that cream sauces can sometimes have, so I kept going back for more without getting tired of it. The spicy yet smooth sauce coated the noodles well, which stood out to me.

Is the signature pizza set enough for three people?

The portions turned out to be more generous than expected for three people, so we boxed up the leftover pizza to take home. Considering the taste, portion size, atmosphere, and price all together, this was a spot with great value for money.
