Butter bresan takeout at Yeongdeungpo bakery café BYWAY BAKERS

In short

BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch is a large bakery café on Dangsan-ro 27-gil near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station in Seoul, baking about 60 kinds of bread in-house every day. An iced Americano, a decaf iced vanilla latte, butter bresan, salt bread and Shanghai butter tteok (buttered rice cake) were packed to go and eaten in the car on the way to Children's Grand Park. The salt bread was savory enough that the kid finished the whole thing, and with group seating and a private meeting room, BYWAY BAKERS also works as a spot for gatherings.

True to a bakery café, BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch has the bread-baking schedule posted at the entrance. It's famous for salt bread so there must be a lot of people looking for it, because the salt bread times were written in especially big letters haha. A large Yeongdeungpo café with group tables and a meeting room

BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch is a spacious store with group seats, a private meeting room, and even window seats for one. I could already tell from the outside that this place was huge. That day a group had been meeting at the group table for about 10 minutes. It's a great café for group meetups in Yeongdeungpo and Dangsan 😀

The drink menu was pretty varied too — coffee, tea, lattes, ades, shakes, smoothies and more. It's great that decaf coffee is an option! We ordered an iced Americano and a decaf iced vanilla latte 😊

Newly launched fig pistachio tart

This fig pistachio tart was a new item and it looked so pretty 😍 Fall is fig season after all~ It looked so good I wanted to eat it, but I had to eat in the car that day so I gave it up 😭 I'll come back to try you soon!!

Bakery shelves packed with bread

About 60 kinds of bread, from salt bread to butter tteok

True to its reputation as a bakery café bread spot near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station, BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch had an insane variety of bread!

A place where you can find about 60 different types of bread and baked goods. Since it's all made fresh in-store every day, even the buttery aroma was on another level 😆

Butter bresan, salt bread and Shanghai butter tteok packed for the car

A staff member recommended the butter bresan as their new menu item, so I picked one up. Since it's a salt bread spot, I got salt bread too, and I also grabbed a chewy Shanghai butter tteok 😍

The coffee was ready quickly too, so we packed everything up to go! We took it to eat in the car on our way to Children's Grand Park. So exciting!! 👏

Packed coffee and bread bags to go

As soon as we got in the car, I sipped the coffee first. The portion here is generous and the flavor is strong, which I love. The iced decaf vanilla latte was nutty and sweet, perfect for a sugar boost. It wasn't overly sweet, just a mild, pleasant sweetness that suited my taste perfectly 😊 It also went well with the bread.

Butter bresan tastes like old-school Korean bakery bread

The butter bresan was tasty too! It's a bit like a nostalgic old-fashioned bread flavor, or maybe similar to a kkwabaegi (twisted donut)? The cream dotted throughout was sweet and nutty, making it even more delicious when eaten together.

Salt bread my kid finished on his own

The salt bread was so good my kid finished the whole thing haha. I got a bite of the end piece too, and it was salty-savory and delicious! Definitely a bakery café bread spot near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station 👍 I highly recommend the salt bread here!!

Shanghai butter tteok, crisp outside and soft inside

Shanghai butter tteok: crisp outside, soft inside

This Shanghai butter tteok was properly crisp outside and soft inside! The inside was chewy like rice cake while the outside was crunchy and had a bread-like flavor. You could really taste the rich butter, and it was very delicious. Both the coffee and the bread were fully satisfying at BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch 😊

Chuseok holiday gift sets on display in the store

The store is currently selling Chuseok (Korean thanksgiving) gift sets too, so check out the bakery gift sets and baked-goods gift sets while you're there 👀

The store was spacious and had so many delicious kinds of bread — a great bakery café near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station for salt bread and cake. BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch is especially recommended for anyone needing a spot for group gatherings or meetings 🩷
