Yeongdeungpo bakery 10am chicken breast sandwich takeout: BYWAY BAKERS

In short

BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch is a large bakery café a 2-minute walk from Exit 1 of Yeongdeungpogu Office Station in Seoul. On a 10am visit, the carrot rapé egg sandwich and the chicken breast sandwich (6,500 won each) and a fig pistachio tart (5,600 won) went out as takeout, and the chicken breast was moist rather than dry as feared. Bagels, baguettes, butter tteok, cakes and wakppu come out later in the day, so early-morning visitors to BYWAY BAKERS may miss them.

BYWAY BAKERS, located near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station. This is a place I sometimes pop into when I suddenly crave bread and just grab something and go. It has so many kinds of bread and sells trendy ones well too (ube, Shanghai butter tteok, wakppu salt bread, etc.), so I stop by fairly often!!

What bread is out at 10am at BYWAY BAKERS?

At BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch, they have a sign posted with the times bread comes out!! There's even the wakppu salt bread that's trendy these days! Visiting around 10:00, I found the bagels, baguettes, butter tteok, cake, and wakppu would only come out a bit later,, so disappointing..

Sign showing bread release times

There's also a kiosk just for drinks. Order drinks there, and for bread you can pick it up yourself or ask a staff member for the ones in the display case!

Drink-only kiosk

BYWAY BAKERS really has such a wide menu!! I saw they now have corn cheese salt bread! I.. love corn cheese so..

Since it was early morning (by my standards), there was less bread than I expected. (When you go at the right time, it's usually much fuller.) Looking at the photos again, there's actually quite a lot! And this is what 'less' looks like!!! Also, the 'pineapple bun' here is genuinely delicious! I had it on a previous visit and I still think about the taste,, it reminded me of my trip to Hong Kong 🥹

The fig pistachio tart that caught my eye. Figs are so delicious these days that I'm on a project to eat as many as possible.

Seating and drink menu at BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo

BYWAY BAKERS is completely spacious with tons of seats and even bigger tables, but I couldn't get a photo of those, sadly..

╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ Heading home with the sandwiches my sister and I love and the fig pistachio tart neatly packed up. Thanks to that, the weekend is off to a good start.

How the fig pistachio tart travels without falling apart

Such a beautiful tart. What I thought was truly great and clever was that the tart was secured in place, so the fruit didn't spill out or get messed up~ I thought, wow, that's such a good idea.

So here's one more shot!!! The tart looks even prettier in the sunlight!

How do the carrot rapé egg and chicken breast sandwiches taste?

Ta-da!! The carrot rapé egg sandwich, the chicken breast sandwich, and the fig pistachio tart, all together!!

Both sandwiches and the tart placed together

The carrot rapé egg sandwich has tangy rapé and savory egg mayo inside a croissant, plus vegetables.. (not sure what else to say.. but it was tasty). I was worried the chicken breast sandwich would be dry, but it was far from dry — it was moist and delicious.. ♡ With tomato and lettuce, it was really good. The olive focaccia looked tasty, and I was glad the bread itself was olive focaccia! The fig pistachio tart had figs and pistachio that went so well together!
