The interior felt even cleaner and more stylish than it looks from outside.

Seating at Eight Years with soft lighting and plants

Soft lighting and fresh green plants made it feel extra cozy. There are plenty of seats, from tables for two to tables for four, which made it lovely for a relaxed brunch.

How long is the wait at Eight Years?

Eight Years Pangyo dining hall crowded on a weekday morning

Even on a weekday morning it was so popular that there was a wait! It was busy, but lively rather than chaotic, which felt just right for a popular brunch café.

If you come without a reservation, check for seats first, and if there are none, ask a staff member to put you on the waiting list. At peak times waiting and moving seats can be limited, so I'd recommend booking ahead if you can~

Outdoor terrace at Eight Years Pangyo

The terrace was one of Eight Years' biggest charms, and dogs are welcome there too. It sits right next to the park, so the airy, relaxed atmosphere was lovely, and on a cool day it looks perfect for brunch.

We ordered the shrimp brunch and the garlic oil pasta. I had no idea there would be so many shrimp in the garlic oil pasta! It somehow turned into a shrimp party, haha

Full shrimp brunch plate at Eight Years

Shrimp brunch 15.0

The shrimp brunch is Eight Years' signature brunch, a filling single plate. It comes with shrimp, sausage, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, salad and scrambled eggs, and both the textures and the lineup were satisfying.

Close-up of the shrimp brunch with six shrimp

There are as many as 6 plump shrimp, and their springy bite pops in your mouth.

Brunch plate with freshly baked ciabatta

With freshly baked ciabatta and such a variety of ingredients, it never got boring down to the last bite. It was a thoroughly satisfying meal.

A glass of Fruity Terrace drink at Eight Years

Fruity Terrace (프루티테라스) 7.0

Fruity Terrace starts with a gently spreading fruity aroma, and afterwards a faint ginger-like scent lingers, which made it feel more unique. It's clean and not too sweet, so it goes well with brunch, and even on its own as a cup of tea it finishes on a pleasant note.

Garlic oil pasta with shrimp and vegetables

Eight Years garlic oil pasta 14.0

The garlic oil pasta, made with a house-made special base and loaded with shrimp and vegetables, had really rich savory flavor. It had almost none of the greasiness oil pasta can have, and a touch of spiciness kept me enjoying it to the end.

With every bite the garlic aroma and the flavor of the ingredients blended well, and I could tell right away why it's a popular dish. It finishes slightly spicy, so even as an oil pasta it wasn't heavy, and I enjoyed it to the last bite.

Café latte from Eight Years after the meal

Café latte ₩5,300

At brunch places the coffee can be a little disappointing, but at Eight Years even the coffee was really satisfying. The café latte I had after the meal was so good that it wrapped up the brunch beautifully.

Who I'd recommend it to

  • People who want a brunch date somewhere with a nice atmosphere
  • People who like cafés with a terrace
  • People who care about coffee as much as the meal
  • People looking for a hearty brunch menu
  • People who want relatively easy parking on the Baekhyeon-dong café street in Pangyo

Overall verdict

Eight Years has tasty brunch, a lovely terrace atmosphere and satisfying coffee, so I'd recommend it for a date or a relaxed weekend brunch. It's a Pangyo brunch spot I'd like to come back to. Next time I'm going with friends^^
