Daegu salon volume magic straightening for damaged hair: With Me Hair

Today's post is my review of the volume magic straightening at With Me Hair that turned my frizzy mess of hair into something silky smooth! I brought it all back haha. I really got to taste the difference that recovery ampoule makes compared to other salons!

This is the frizz I had even after combing hard before heading to the salon.. I set off with a vague hope that volume magic straightening would fix it.

They even make great coffee here. What beans do you use for the Americano..? The coffee machine pours out a guaranteed-delicious iced Americano.

Honestly, after a few rounds of dyeing my hair got so damaged that I'd sworn off root touch-ups, determined to be reborn with healthy hair (stubborn, I know). Can hair really change this much? My hair that used to be unmanageable.. wow.

Even looking again it's kind of amazing. Since it's volume magic, they added volume and curl at the roots and ends, and the volume difference before and after is really noticeable.

Even after getting home it felt even silkier lol. What is this feeling.. I caught myself gently combing my hair over and over. Embarrassed about my home tracksuit situation, but,, (I really wanted to show you the hair condition, sorry!)

Honestly this wasn't just the result of the volume magic. Just the layered cut (the director's golden hands) that texturized my hair made it comb through fairly easily on its own??

Without cutting much length, she thinned out the volume a bit and texturized so my hair could be combed through in one go. She even subtly shaped face-framing pieces when it's tied up. Such a thoughtful touch.

Why the recovery ampoule matters for damaged hair

When it was done and my hair was silky and glossy, I asked her secret — turns out the recovery ampoule plays a huge role! This stuff looked pricey just from a glance. She said using good products is the first step to minimizing damage, and she used it generously...

I was almost worried it was too much lol. I've seen other salons where you wonder if that little amount is even enough, but here she used it without holding back and scraped every last bit out. I smelled it too, and it wasn't harsh at all — more like a coconut scent?

Recovery ampoule, heat treatment and the softening stage

Heat treatment for softening in progress. My scalp is sensitive but it didn't sting at all. It's obviously not as strong as full recovery magic, but the recovery ampoule felt like it was protecting my hair almost like a clinic treatment during the pre-treatment stage.

After the heat treatment I combed through and — wait, wet hair combs like that?? It didn't feel like my own hair.

Those silicone bangs rollers are a great find — I'm about to grab some from Coupang! Your hair doesn't get pulled at all lol.

The recovery essence With Me Hair recommends for home care

People with damaged hair like mine need essence and hair oil, right?? They say buying from the salon is the real deal, so I bought some too. That black essence (the scent isn't great but once applied, hair gets a nice weighty feel).

If you use a flat iron a lot, they say that BLOW MAGIC spray, which makes hair silky and glossy, is good too (curious to try).
