Tonkotsu ramen solo dining at Ryusenso, a Dongseong-ro Daegu ramen

Today's post is about Ryusenso, a Daegu ramen spot in Dongseong-ro! Kyeong-i actually loves ramen a ton, so we go around Daegu hunting for good ramen places, and this is one we'd already tried before. It was delicious back then too, so we went back for more..!! I think I visited about 3 years ago, before I started blogging... and seeing that the shop is still standing strong in Dongseong-ro, there must be a reason, right??? Let's go!

Ryusenso Dongseong-ro: location, hours, and parking

First, Ryusenso Dongseong-ro is located at 57 Gongpyeong-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu, South Korea, at the end of the Dongseong-ro bar street heading toward the National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial! There's no dedicated parking, so if you need it, the Gukchaebosang public parking lot is close by and convenient.

Business hours are 11:30–21:00 daily, with last order at 20:30, and no holidays or break time, which made it easy to visit! It's only closed on the day of major holidays, so if Chuseok is coming up, you could spend the holiday itself with family and grab a bowl of ramen during the break.

Inside the restaurant: waiting zone and solo counter seats

When you walk in, there's a separate indoor waiting zone! Not just the waiting zone but also the dining area had a charging barcode, which was nice — especially since it's been so hot lately, being able to wait somewhere cool inside was a real plus!

The 4-person tables inside were also on the spacious side, making the meal comfortable, and there are counter seats for solo diners or couples too, so if you're looking for a good place to eat alone in Dongseong-ro, I highly recommend it! I actually saw quite a few people eating solo there.

By the way, they run a receipt review event that gives you a free soda, and if you check Naver Map, you can grab a free topping coupon for the ramen — get it ahead of time! There are also hair ties available in the store, and the owner's service was great in many ways.

Ryusenso ramen + extra chashu

And here's the incredibly delicious Ryusenso ramen ₩11,000 + extra chashu! Think of it as a classic tonkotsu ramen — one slice of chashu comes standard, but it's a big piece, so ordering one extra chashu was more than enough to split a slice each between the two of us.

The rich, oily broth that's characteristic of tonkotsu ramen was truly the GOAT flavor... eaten together with the toppings it has a nice chewy texture too, and the side dish of ginger cleared away any greasiness right around the halfway point — loved that. The noodles were also more generous than at other ramen places, so the portion was big and it was delicious.

Ryusenso kara ramen + extra tamago

Next up: Ryusenso kara ramen ₩11,000 + tamago added twice. Hahahahaha the visual was insane... Kyeong-i loves adding an egg to ramen, and she says for spicy ramen especially, breaking the yolk a little and eating it with the noodles makes it taste amazing! I stole a bite too and it was slightly spicy and delicious!
