I saw my mom recently and my heart just sank — so much dry, frizzy gray hair 💦 On top of that, a bad perm at another salon had left her hair basically fried! So I went looking for a salon known for hair recovery treatments, and found With Me Hair (위드미헤어) in Dongseongno.
Where is With Me Hair, and where do you park?
With Me Hair is right in the center of Dongseongno. It's on the 3rd floor of the building just behind Shin Dermatology, so it was easy to find even on a first visit! For parking, you can use the free lot next to the building 🚗 I was worried the spots might be limited, so I parked at the Gukchaebosang Memorial Park lot instead!
Walking up to the 3rd floor, the space was bigger than I expected. The clean, calm interior gave off a really comfortable vibe! Since it's a one-person shop, it wasn't crowded at all, and I loved the private feel.

Hair condition before the appointment: gray and perm damage
Before the treatment, my mom's hair had a lot of new gray growth and the root volume at the crown was drooping.
The ends were also damaged from a previous perm, making the whole thing look dry and rough.
Still, director Daeun carefully checked her scalp and hair condition, then decided to go in the order of cut, full dye, and root iron perm.
Step 1: the cut
First, she started with a clean cut, considering the damaged sections and overall length ✂️ Rather than just chopping it short, she kept the current style while tidying up the messy parts — the hair already looked much neater after just the cut!
Step 2: full ash khaki dye for gray coverage
Next came the full dye to cover the gray! She recommended an ash khaki tone to match my mom's skin tone and vibe.
It wasn't a color that was too dark or heavy — instead, it naturally covered the gray while brightening up the face 👍
After the color set and her hair was washed clean, the gray was covered neatly and the ash khaki color settled in naturally, giving her overall look a softer impression!
Step 3: root iron perm at the crown
After the full dye, she moved on to a root iron perm to revive the drooping crown volume. We originally came in thinking about a full perm, but after checking my mom's hair condition, she said it would be better to just treat the crown where the volume was needed!
She didn't push unnecessary treatments and only suggested what was truly needed, which made me trust her even more (🫶🏻 ' ')
During the root iron perm, she added a recovery ampoule to reduce damage. After applying the ampoule, she did heat treatment, then carefully worked the iron through the crown roots strand by strand! It wasn't an overly puffed-up volume — the drooping roots came back to life naturally, and even the shape of her head looked prettier 💓
The result: covered gray and lifted root volume
Finally, after neutralizing, shampooing, and drying, the whole treatment was complete ✨
With the crown volume revived by the root iron perm and the whole head dyed in ash khaki tones, the gray hair was neatly covered.
Hair that had been dry, limp, and drooping was now tidy and put together, completely changing her whole vibe! In particular, the revived roots made her head shape look great from both the front and the side.
The dye color wasn't too dark either — it had a subtle ash khaki glow that really suited my mom.
As soon as she saw the mirror, my mom said she really loved it and was so happy 🙊 (mom-loving daughter tears)
