Table kiosk ordering at Seoul Myeonok, a Pyeongtaek naengmyeon spot

In short

Seoul Myeonok is a 60-year-old pyongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodle) restaurant near Exit 1 of Pyeongtaek Station in Gyeonggi. Arriving on a Sunday at 5:30 pm with no wait, two big eaters used the table kiosk to order pyongyang naengmyeon (11,000 won), bibim naengmyeon (11,000 won) and a half plate of Korean pork (suyuk), and left completely full. Even a naengmyeon beginner fell for the mild, clean broth at Seoul Myeonok — a great-value meal.

Seoul Myeonok, a legendary Pyeongtaek Station naengmyeon spot, radiates 60-year-old-restaurant energy and retro charm right from the exterior! There's often a wait on weekends or during lunch peak hours, but you can use CatchTable so that's convenient. I arrived at 5:30 pm on a Sunday and got in without any wait!👍🏻

Where to park near Seoul Myeonok

🚗 Parking is available. There's space for about 1-2 cars right in front of the restaurant! If you use the nearby public parking lot, given the alley layout, I recommend families with young kids drop the kids off in front of the restaurant first before moving on to park. (Pyeongtaek-dong 76-3 public parking lot → 1.5 hours free parking)

Inside Seoul Myeonok and how the table kiosk works

The moment I stepped inside, I felt both the old-school charm and the cleanliness at the same time, and I loved it! There were customers of all ages, from young people to elders, so I thought 'ah, this is a real hidden gem' ✨

☑️ Kiosk ordering. At Seoul Myeonok you can order from a kiosk right at your table! The warm broth is self-serve, so sipping it while waiting for the food felt warm and cozy. The staff are so friendly and the turnover is fast, making for a comfortable dining atmosphere!

Menu and prices: what we ordered

Seoul Myeonok's menu board showing pyongyang and bibim naengmyeon prices

Looking at the menu at Seoul Myeonok, besides the signature pyongyang naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon (₩11,000 each), there's also yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), galbitang (short rib soup), charcoal-grilled pork bulgogi, and pork (suyuk) — plenty of options! Even if you're with someone who doesn't like naengmyeon, there's lots of choice, making it a really great-value spot 🤤

  • Pyongyang naengmyeon (₩11,000)
  • Bibim naengmyeon (₩11,000)
  • Domestic pork (half plate)

The half plate of Korean pork (suyuk)

The domestic pork came out first, boiled thoroughly with zero gaminess, and it melted the moment it hit my mouth! Paired with the dried radish and pollack sashimi salad on the side, it was every bit as good as a dedicated pork restaurant 🔥

Next came the main pyongyang naengmyeon, and thanks to the traditional broth method they've kept for 60 years, it had a mild yet deep, clean savoriness — perfect for a first-timer! The chewy noodles came topped with a thick layer of garnish, making it excellent value 👍

And the portion was really huge, so it should be a filling meal even for big eaters!🤤👍🏻

Bibim naengmyeon and suyuk: the winning combo

My favorite, the bibim naengmyeon, was spicy-sweet without being overly intense, and I couldn't put my chopsticks down!

Wrapping a piece of tender pork with the bibim naengmyeon was truly the winning combo 🍚

Can you see the portions???👀🍜 Two big eaters ate really well and got really full! 💕🐷💕 The pig is happy 🫶🏻 By the way, I'm a naengmyeon beginner, but thanks to Seoul Myeonok I think I'll crave naengmyeon from time to time now!

Since the noodles are cold, the warm broth refreshes you in between!🍵 It's so mild that I kept drinking it~

Namu's verdict on Seoul Myeonok

The table at the end of the meal at Seoul Myeonok
  • Cleanliness & hygiene: ★★★★★ (spotless restaurant and dishware despite being a long-running old-school spot!)
  • Taste & value: ★★★★★ (generous toppings and excellent naengmyeon quality for around ₩10,000)
  • Would revisit: 10000%!!

It was such a satisfying meal that we scraped our bowls clean. The deeply savory pyongyang naengmyeon, the addictive bibim naengmyeon, and the chewy pork combo — everything was perfect 🤩 The staff are so kind too!👍🏻 If you're looking for a Pyeongtaek Station naengmyeon restaurant where you can taste 60 years of real tradition, head straight to Seoul Myeonok!

I'm planning to head back soon to slurp up that unbeatable value broth again~~~~~🏃‍♀️💨
