Flat-rate sushi near Pyeongtaek Station: yukhoe sushi at Mikado Sushi

Mikado Sushi is my go-to sushi place whenever I'm craving sushi near Pyeongtaek Station, so when a Superchart campaign gave me the chance to visit, I decided to write up the experience.

Mikado Sushi Pyeongtaek Station Branch is a revolving sushi restaurant about a 3-minute walk from Exit 1 of Pyeongtaek Station. The easy access makes it a convenient stop for train riders or anyone with plans near the station.

🚶 Getting there from Pyeongtaek Station, and where to park

Coming from Pyeongtaek Station, exit the AK Plaza/CGV Pyeongtaek building and walk about 350m toward Pyeongtaek Police Station; the restaurant is across from the Samsung Life building.

There's no on-site parking, so use the Jaran public parking lot next to Pyeongtaek Police Station or the Pyeongtaek JC Children's Park public parking lot. If you're driving, park at Jaran, cross at the signal in front of Pyeongtaek Post Office, and walk about 200m.

I went not long after the 11:30 opening, and tables were already pretty full, with customers continuing to stream in nonstop. It really felt like a place people near Pyeongtaek Station actively seek out.

Is Mikado Sushi good for solo diners? Seating and QR ordering

Seating at Mikado Sushi Pyeongtaek Station Branch is split between counter seats good for solo diners and table seats for groups. When we walked in, staff checked our party size and guided us straight to the right seat, so there was no confusion.

The staff were friendly overall, which made the whole meal pleasant.

📱 Ordering by QR code — very good!! 👍🏼👍🏼

Ordering was done via QR code, which was convenient since we could add menu items on the spot without calling a server. Even dishes not on the belt were ordered through QR and made fresh, so the wait never felt like a burden.

🍣 Flat-rate plates and 2,100 won draft beer

Every plate at Mikado Sushi Pyeongtaek Station Branch is the same price, so I could just pick whatever looked good without worrying about cost. On top of that, draft beer was only ₩2,100, so pairing a glass with sushi felt completely guilt-free. Overall, the value here was clearly excellent.

🥢 My top 3 sushi picks at Mikado Sushi

I tried a bit of everything, but yukhoe (raw beef) sushi, live fish aged kimchi, and grilled cheese shrimp left the strongest impression.

The yukhoe sushi kept the distinctive texture of raw beef, which made for a great bite, and the live fish aged kimchi was an odd but addictive combo — the tangy, well-fermented kimchi balanced the clean flavor of the raw fish.

The grilled cheese shrimp had melted cheese covering the shrimp, so it was great served warm, and it stood out as a refreshing, non-greasy option among all the raw-fish-style sushi. If I had to pick just three plates to eat again, this trio would be it.

🌊 Named live-fish sourcing and free wasabi: two things that stood out

Two things stood out to me at the restaurant. One was the fish origin disclosure system — the restaurant posts where that day's live fish came from, so families or anyone visiting with kids can check freshness information before eating. The other was the wasabi-free system: wasabi isn't added to the sushi by default, and you can adjust how much you add yourself, which I thought was a nice touch.

✨ Nine free extras set out around the restaurant

Near the entrance, a sign listed nine services unique to the restaurant — wifi and phone charging at the table, of course, but also aprons and hair ties, fabric deodorizer and disposable mouthwash, hand cream and blankets, even ointment and basic medicine.

Feminine hygiene products are available on request too, and hashtagging the restaurant gets you a free canned drink, which was a nice little bonus. Kids also get a welcome drink, so it's worth knowing if you're visiting as a family.

✨ Final verdict on Mikado Sushi Pyeongtaek Station Branch

I'd go back. Being able to pick freely at a flat rate, plus ₩2,100 draft beer, made for clearly great value, and the QR ordering was convenient too — overall a satisfying meal.

That said, given it's flat-rate conveyor sushi, anyone hoping to focus on higher-end fish might find it a bit plain. I was especially happy with the yukhoe sushi, live fish aged kimchi, and grilled cheese shrimp combo, so if I go back, those three are what I'd order first.
