Parking at Jugeokjip: is there a private lot?
There's a private lot right beside Jugeokjip in Songtan, and it looks like several cars can park out front too. On weekends or holidays, if the lot and the front area are full, use the nearby public parking lot. Lucky for me, no cars were parked in the lot when I visited, so I parked easily.

Inside Jugeokjip: good for groups and kids?
The spacious interior has plenty of tables, making it a great spot for family meals or group gatherings. You can book the entire hall, or a private room for anywhere from 10 to 40 people. There are also baby chairs on hand, so it's easy to visit with kids, plus free corkage — and if you bring a pet, they'll guide you through it if you book via Naver Reservation.

What's on the Jugeokjip self-bar?
At the self-bar in this Songtan restaurant, you'll find tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), cream soup, and refills of the basic side dishes like napa cabbage, lettuce, and japchae (glass noodle stir-fry) — help yourself to whatever you like.

I booked through Naver Reservation, so my table was already set up when I arrived and I could sit right down. While waiting for the meat, I ate the basic side dishes — every single one hit the spot.

From the menu, what we ordered at this Songtan spot: one serving of the signature jugeoksal and one serving of charcoal fresh pork belly.

Signature jugeoksal, the intercostal meat between the ribs
A rare cut of intercostal meat, only a single piece per rib bone — the recommended signature jugeoksal at Jugeokjip.

So juicy and full of savory flavor, this jugeoksal is seriously delicious — if you visit this Songtan spot, definitely order it 🍖

Doenjang jjigae free with the receipt review event
Jugeokjip's Naver receipt review event (post 2 photos) gets you a free 5-star seasoned crab, kimchi jjigae, or doenjang jjigae. I chose the doenjang jjigae and ordered rice alongside it — it came generously packed with big chunks of tofu, perfect for mixing into rice.

Salt, myeoljeot and wasabi: the side dishes at Jugeokjip
At this Songtan spot, dipping the meat in salt is delicious too, and there's myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce), wasabi, and pickled onion that pair nicely as well. There's also lettuce and napa cabbage if you want to wrap it in a lettuce wrap.

Charcoal-grilled fresh pork belly, one serving
This Songtan restaurant's charcoal-grilled fresh pork belly comes at just the right thickness, and grilling garlic, eggplant, and zucchini alongside it makes it even more delicious.

Finishing with mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup)
I ordered mul-naengmyeon near the end to eat with the charcoal pork belly — the broth was rich and the portion was really generous. Depending on your taste, mix in some mustard or vinegar, and wrap a piece of meat in the noodles to eat together.

Dessert at Jugeokjip: coffee and ice cream
At this Songtan spot, the soju stays free at ₩0 all the way through, and coffee and ice cream are complimentary too ⭐️

I almost left without noticing the ice cream, but the owner mentioned it was available, so I went over to the freezer — there were plenty of flavors to choose from. A great way to cleanse the palate after the meal.
