Family lunch with a baby high chair in Nam-gu, Ulsan: Samsam Milmyeon
In short
Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch is a Korean restaurant in Dal-dong near Ulsan Terminal, in Nam-gu, Ulsan, that serves only milmyeon (cold wheat noodles). After a family outing to Ulsan Grand Park, the writer came with a baby and ordered double portions of chilled-broth milmyeon and spicy mixed milmyeon plus dumplings, and the owner brought over a high chair and set it up so the family could eat in comfort. A double portion is two servings of noodles, so a regular size at Samsam Milmyeon is more than enough.

Lunch after Ulsan Grand Park: Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch in Dal-dong
Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch is a milmyeon (cold buckwheat noodle) specialty restaurant in Dal-dong, Nam-gu, Ulsan, near Ulsan Terminal. The plan for our family outing: hit Ulsan Grand Park, then come eat milmyeon! It was hotter than expected, which made milmyeon exactly the right call.

Is there parking? One hour covered at the Paldo lot
Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch supports validation at a nearby parking lot, so you can eat without worrying about parking. It's near the terminal, making it a great Ulsan Terminal restaurant to stop at for lunch whenever you're visiting Ulsan. We parked at the Paldo parking lot and got 1 hour of parking support.

Can you bring a baby to Samsam Milmyeon? Wide table spacing and a high chair
Samsam Milmyeon Main Branch has a spacious interior, so it works fine for groups, and the wide table spacing made it comfortable to use with a baby too. We sat our baby in the high chair, and the owner was so thoughtful — bringing the chair over and setting it all up herself. Really appreciated that.

The Samsam Milmyeon menu and how much noodle a double portion is
The menu is simple. Water milmyeon, spicy (bibim) milmyeon, extra noodles, and dumplings — that's it! We hadn't eaten a single meal yet, so we went all in with double portions of everything plus dumplings :) The double portion turned out to be more than expected, so I'd recommend regular size for most people.

High chair set up for the baby, done :) It's the type that sits on top of a regular chair, which worked great.

Aprons are at the counter, just so you know!

Free side dishes and the warm broth served first
Basic side dishes and warm broth! There didn't seem to be a self-serve bar, but they'll refill if you ask. Everything else is good too, but the warm broth at this Ulsan milmyeon restaurant is seriously delicious... the kind of flavor that would warm you up in the dead of winter. Not too strong, not too bland — hit the spot exactly.

While sipping the broth and waiting, the main dishes arrived. With a table turnover this good, the wait is shorter than you'd expect. Our milmyeon came out in under 5 minutes.

Milmyeon in chilled broth, double portion, 10,000 won
Samsam Milmyeon's water milmyeon double portion is ₩10,000, and it comes out as two servings' worth of noodles. It's a lot — finishing it left me completely full! The noodles were springy and the broth refreshingly cold, perfect for this kind of weather :) Add vinegar or mustard to taste for extra flavor.

Cut with scissors and mixed in, it looks like this~~ There's a good amount of red sauce mixed in, so it might be strong for anyone who can't handle spicy food — go easy on the sauce or add extra broth :)

With a young baby, I hadn't had milmyeon even once this summer, so eating it again after so long — chewy and cold — felt great. It's delicious in the heat, but there are days in winter when you crave it too, and since this Dal-dong restaurant only serves milmyeon, it seems like a good spot to drop by whenever the craving hits.

Spicy mixed milmyeon, double portion, 10,000 won, topped with raw fish
Samsam Milmyeon's spicy (bibim) milmyeon double portion is also ₩10,000. We had this one too! It's more like a raw-fish bibim noodle dish, with raw fish mixed in, which made it even better. Paired with the warm broth, it's good even in winter... the noodles are chewy and springy and the sauce spicy enough to be addictive.

Personally, I liked the spicy milmyeon more than the water version. Spicy sauce, good texture from the raw fish, noodles that didn't go mushy — all good. The portion was so big it was hard to finish a whole bowl, and it made for a light but satisfying meal. This Ulsan Terminal restaurant serves food fast and without fuss, so it'd work well even for a quick lunch break from work.

Dumplings, 6,000 won: order them with the noodles
Samsam Milmyeon's dumplings are ₩6,000. Chewy dumplings at a nice price too. The wrapper isn't thick but has a good chewy texture, so they couldn't not taste good.

Juicy inside, chewy outside — dumplings that pair perfectly with milmyeon. Nicely priced too, so ordering them as a side is a no-brainer. If you visit Samsam Milmyeon, order the dumplings as a set for sure! You'll regret it if you don't.
Is Samsam Milmyeon worth it with a baby? Final verdict
And with that, cleanly cleared once again... Samsam Milmyeon, an Ulsan Terminal restaurant, was great for a meal that wasn't too intense or heavy. The double portions are generous, and the dumplings pair well as a side, so if you're looking for a milmyeon spot to hit in summer or a light lunch place, this one's worth keeping in mind.

Wrapping up with a photo of the baby drinking formula at the milmyeon restaurant... thanks to the staff, we were able to have a comfortable family meal with our baby :) That's it for now.
