Ever had a date ruined by a bar that's too loud and too dark? My partner and I were meeting up in Yeongdeungpo after a while, and I really wanted somewhere with good snacks and a cozy vibe where we could actually talk.
So this time I found a Yeongdeungpo izakaya that solved that exact problem — great mood, great food quality. It's also super close to Times Square, perfect for planning a weekend date route!

At Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch we ordered spicy Nagasaki seafood nabe (hot pot), pork belly scallion skewers, and soju. A combo of hot, spicy nabe to warm the stomach and charcoal-scented skewers.
The basic side dish is cabbage drizzled with sauce!
The spicy Nagasaki seafood nabe was loaded with fresh seafood filling the pot, and the slightly spicy, deep, rich seafood broth warmed us up from the inside — the soju just kept flowing in haha
I dipped the pork belly scallion skewer in the sauce and took a bite — the savory, tender pork belly was packed full of crisp, sharp scallion, great texture balance! Usually at skewer places you risk chewy or dry meat, but here it was juicy!
Alternating between the tasty pork belly scallion skewers and the spicy nabe broth, time flew by and the soju bottles kept piling up before we knew it 👍🏻 It's a great, tasteful bar to stop by with your partner near Times Square!
