Today I want to introduce Deundeun Haejanggukbap Seonyudo branch, right next to Seonyudo Station. A big, welcoming cauldron greets you from the entrance, giving off proper old-countryside vibes. The prices are cheap, the portions are huge, there's a fun event, and you can get pyeonbaek sundae stew (steamed blood sausage) with unlimited refills — a place that really lets you eat a hearty meal or properly cure a hangover. Let's get into it! ^^
Inside Deundeun Haejanggukbap: seating and the partitioned group room

The interior mixes hanok (traditional Korean house) style with an urban look, clean and tidy enough that it really felt like a fairly new place, haha.

There's a group room space too, screened off by partitions — a nice, private spot for a group to eat comfortably together.

How does the clean-plate challenge work?
The eat-it-all challenge: finish your bowl completely, without leaving a single drop, then check the bottom — it'll say either 'winner' or just 'finished.' If it says 'winner,' it's free, hahaha. I told myself I'd check after eating!! ...and then completely forgot. Dang it.

What we ordered at Deundeun Haejanggukbap and what it cost
Here's what we ate today!!!!!
- Signature set meal ₩17,800
- Nostalgic sweet potato cheese pork cutlet ₩12,900

Every table has an array of seasonings to mix into your gukbap (soup with rice) to taste, and if the side dishes run low, there's a separate self-bar where you can scoop out more anytime. ^^

Unlimited pyeonbaek sundae jjim and the dipping sauce station
And the other huge perk of Deundeun Haejanggukbap: pyeonbaek sundae stew!!! Getting to eat this delicious steamed blood sausage stew with unlimited refills is amazing. It's great dropped straight into the gukbap, and also great dipped in a sauce you mix yourself... T_T

Next to the pyeonbaek sundae stew is a sauce station, with instructions on how to mix your own dip. ^^

The 17,800 won signature set: pork gukbap, tteokgalbi and boiled pork
The signature set meal and the sweet potato cheese cutlet

We chose the pork gukbap, and the broth was milky white with such a generous amount of meat that every spoonful brought up more meat than rice, hahaha.
Taste it once, then add perilla powder, salted shrimp, or seasoning sauce depending on your preference.
We only scooped in half a bowl of rice and it was still plenty!!

There's also a separate sauce great for dipping the head meat — nice and refreshing with a bit of sweetness, really delicious!

This is the sauce for dipping the sundae stew, and honestly it's incredible dipped here too... the sauces all had a fruity flavor that paired really well with the meat.

The set meal comes with tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties) and boiled pork too — slicing into the tteokgalbi revealed it packed with juice and chewy in the best way, honestly wanted to order another one. The boiled pork was tender, and wrapped in chives it cut through the fat nicely with a savory finish. ♡
The nostalgic sweet potato cheese pork cutlet, 12,900 won

The sweet potato cheese pork cutlet is loaded with both sweet potato and cheese!! Both are generous, but the sweet potato flavor came through more strongly overall.

At the entrance there's coffee and candy to enjoy, plus a guestbook that's fun to sign. ♡
