Gangnam Station sundae restaurant: meat-only soup platter, Sinju Okmi
In short
Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch is a 24-hour sundaeguk (pork and offal soup) restaurant on Teheran-ro 10-gil in Gangnam, Seoul. The order was Myeongin Sundaeguk (meat only), which leaves out the sundae sausage and fills the bowl with meat and offal boiled in four batches a day, plus a full plate of Handmade Assorted Myeongin Sundae with thick, hand-stuffed pieces. With free noodles at the self-serve bar, Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch works just as well for a quick meal as for late-night drinks.

I went to Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch, a well-known Gangnam Station sundaeguk (pork and organ meat soup) spot, to try the signature Myeongin Sundaeguk (meat only) and a Handmade Assorted Myeongin Sundae full plate. From a lunchtime hangover cure to an after-work drinking snack — reliably crowd-pleasing! Here's my real review of Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch.

How to get there from Gangnam and Yeoksam stations, plus parking and valet fees
Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch sits near Teheran-ro, the core stretch of Yeoksam-dong in Gangnam-gu, so public transit is very convenient. It's an easy walk from either Yeoksam Station or Gangnam Station.

Parking is available for free behind the building. Valet costs ₩3,000 between 3pm and 11pm, and is free at all other times.
What does a sundaeguk restaurant look like inside? Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch
When you hear "sundae-guk restaurant," you usually picture the cozy, old-school feel of a long-running local joint. Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch, though, felt more like a modern dining franchise mixed with a sleek Korean restaurant.

With bright, warm lighting and tables that blend wood tones with modern steel frames, the space felt relaxed rather than chaotic — nice for chatting over a meal.
Free noodles at the self-serve bar
In the middle of the restaurant there's a clean, well-kept self-serve bar. Along with the standard side dishes, there were even noodles. Most places charge extra for noodles as an add-on, so having them free was a nice touch.

What we ordered at Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch
- Myeongin Sundaeguk (meat only)
- Handmade Assorted Myeongin Sundae, full plate
With the meat-only Myeongin Sundaeguk and the handmade assorted sundae full plate, the table looked completely packed. This would work well as a full meal, and I think it'd also make a great late-night drinking snack.
Myeongin Sundaeguk (meat only): no sausage, just meat and offal
This is Sinju Okmi's signature sundaeguk with the sundae (blood sausage) left out entirely, filled instead with nothing but meat and offal.

From the bottom of the earthenware bowl to the top, every spoonful pulled up more ingredients — it was that packed. True to meat boiled in four separate batches a day, it was tender enough to melt, with no dryness at all.

There was no fishy or gamey smell whatsoever, so even people who are usually squeamish about this kind of soup could probably eat it without any hesitation.
Handmade Assorted Myeongin Sundae, full plate: how were the liver and lung?
This is Sinju Okmi's signature side dish, featuring hand-stuffed, traditional-style sundae made in-house alongside fresh offal (liver, lung, and more). You can choose a half plate or a full plate.

The handmade sundae, neatly sliced and filling the plate, was on a different level from the usual glass-noodle sundae — thick-cut, densely packed with vegetables, meat, and glass noodles, bursting with rich juices and a nutty flavor.
Liver and lung, in particular, tend to dry out or develop a strong iron-like smell as time passes. But the offal in Sinju Okmi's assorted sundae was moist, as if it had just been boiled.
Is Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch worth a visit?
I tried the signature Myeongin Sundaeguk (meat only) and the Handmade Assorted Myeongin Sundae full plate at Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch, a go-to Gangnam Station sundaeguk restaurant. In a modern, comfortable setting, I got to taste fresh meat boiled four times a day — the kind of dish with an addictive quality that makes you want to come back. If you want a truly satisfying bowl of sundaeguk and handmade assorted sundae right in the middle of Gangnam, Sinju Okmi Gangnam Branch will be a choice you won't regret.
