Nonhyeon Korean BBQ: 5 servings of three pork cuts, Daepae Market
In short
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is a 24-hour thin-sliced pork restaurant on Hakdong-ro 2-gil near Nonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul, where you can grill at outdoor tables. On a cool evening the order was 3 servings of thin-sliced pork belly plus 1 serving each of thin-sliced pork jowl and pork cheek-jowl, with the 2,000 won per person unlimited self-serve bar and cold kimchi noodle soup. Meat sliced on the spot to order and a self-serve bar for changing up each bite kept the meal from getting heavy to the last piece.

These days evenings are getting cooler and it's exactly the kind of weather made for outdoor grilling !!! On days like this, eating meat indoors just feels like a waste — I wanted to grill pork belly sizzling away outside, so I visited a Nonhyeon pork belly spot that has outdoor tables. You can enjoy thin-sliced pork belly along with cuts like pork jowl and pork neck, all done in the thin-sliced style, and best of all there are outdoor tables, which makes it perfect for visiting in weather like this - ♥!!!!

Does Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch have outdoor tables?
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch has outdoor tables alongside indoor seating, so you can grill meat outside. This is exactly why I especially want to recommend this place right now!!!!! Outdoor seating is available!!!!!!!!! You can eat indoors too, but on a nice-weather day, eating outside is still the best…

Sitting at the wide-open outdoor tables, sizzling pork belly on the grill with a cold drink on the side — the atmosphere alone was so good ㅜㅜ Especially in this fresh evening weather these days, it's neither too hot nor too cold, which makes it the perfect season for eating meat outdoors! If you're in the Nonhyeon area looking for a place to eat after work, or somewhere to have a light drink with friends, this Nonhyeon pork belly spot with outdoor seating could be a great choice :)!
Pork sliced on a meat slicer the moment you order
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch doesn't serve pre-sliced, frozen meat — instead, once you order, they slice it fresh with a meat slicer. Daepae Market says it's a thin-sliced pork specialty brand that manages everything from meat selection to trimming to how it's served, all to break the prejudice that cheap meat means lower quality, balancing price, quality, and flavor ㅇ0ㅇ!!

What surprised me most here was that instead of bringing out already-sliced, frozen meat, they slice it fresh with a meat slicer right when you order ~! So the characteristic thin texture of thin-sliced meat stays, while you still get the juiciness and flavor of the meat too. And true to thin-sliced style, it cooks super fast, which is great for grilling quickly after work ㅎㅅㅎ Also the restaurant is spacious and the tables have generous spacing, so it seemed like a good fit for everything from office worker lunches to company dinners to group gatherings ~!!

Celebrity autographs everywhere..

What time does the lunch special end at Daepae Market?
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch also runs a lunch special from 11am to 2pm ~!! For around ₩10,000s per person you get thin-sliced pork belly, the self-serve bar, and side dishes, so office workers near Nonhyeon might want to stop by for lunch too ?!
What is in the 2,000 won unlimited self-serve bar?
All-you-can-eat self-serve bar — ₩2,000 per person
One thing I really liked about Daepae Market was the self-serve bar !-! For an extra ₩2,000 per person, you can freely help yourself to lettuce wraps, various kimchi, bean sprouts, mushrooms, green onion kimchi, and all kinds of sauces!

If you just keep eating plain thin-sliced pork belly, it can start to feel a little bland or greasy, but here there was such a variety of side dishes to grill alongside it that it was great ~! Put some kimchi and bean sprouts on top and grill them together in the pork belly's fat.. I don't think I need to say more ㅜㅡㅜ

Take a piece of meat with grilled kimchi and bean sprouts on top and drinks just go down smooth ~~ The side dishes were fresh overall and you could take as much as you wanted, which made it a great spot for a group visit !! Salt, pepper, and sesame oil were also individually provided, so that was great ~~

3 servings of pork belly plus 1 each of pork jowl and cheek-jowl
3 servings thin-sliced pork belly / 1 serving thin-sliced pork jowl / 1 serving thin-sliced pork neck / cold kimchi noodle soup
What we ordered was 3 servings of thin-sliced pork belly, 1 serving of thin-sliced pork jowl, 1 serving of thin-sliced pork neck, and cold kimchi noodle soup! Each serving is 100g of meat, and note that on your first order you need to order 3 or more servings ~!

First, the thin-sliced pork belly is exactly the delicious thin-sliced pork belly we all picture ~~ It's thin so it cooks almost instantly once on the grill, and the pieces come pre-cut to bite size, so it was so, so convenient not having to cut everything with scissors! There's also pepper set up separately behind (or beside?) the table, so if you love pepper, sprinkle away to your taste ~

For me, sprinkling a little pepper on the thin-sliced pork belly and grilling it with kimchi and bean sprouts..! Great. Using the self-serve bar together with it really made a difference — even eating just one type of meat, you can wrap it in lettuce, eat it with green onion kimchi, eat it with kimchi, keep switching up combinations, so you never get tired of it :)

How did the thin-sliced pork jowl and cheek-jowl taste?
And the extra cuts we ordered — thin-sliced pork jowl and thin-sliced pork neck! I was surprised at how much bigger they were than expected when they first came out ㅎㅅㅎ Pork belly comes bite-sized so you can eat it right away, but the pork jowl I think we ended up cutting a bit smaller before eating. It has a different texture from thin-sliced pork belly, so if you want to try a variety of cuts, I'd recommend mixing in one of each rather than just ordering pork belly ~! The thin-sliced pork neck was also light and delicious, and eating it now and then between bites of the fattier pork belly gave it its own charm ㅎㅅㅎ Personally, I think a good combination for a group visit is ordering thin-sliced pork belly as the base and then adding pork jowl or pork neck ~!!
Wrapping pork belly into cold kimchi noodle soup
For a side, there's cold kimchi noodle soup! Make sure to have some cold kimchi noodle soup alongside the meat. It comes with a slushy, icy cold broth base like naengmyeon, topped with kimchi, seaweed flakes, and various garnishes — looks super refreshing just from the photo, right ㅜㅜ

After eating a fair amount of thin-sliced pork belly, your mouth can start to feel greasy — that's when a bite of the kimchi noodle soup cleans everything up ~ The method I recommend most is rolling a piece of thin-sliced pork belly right into the kimchi noodle soup noodles!

The cold, tangy kimchi noodle soup paired so well with the warm, savory thin-sliced pork belly that I kept reaching for the noodles between bites of meat ㅋㅅㅋ It wasn't just a dessert-style noodle dish — the pairing was good enough that you could order it specifically to eat alongside the meat !!
Verdict: Korean BBQ at outdoor tables in Nonhyeon, Seoul
If you're looking for a good-value pork belly restaurant in Nonhyeon with outdoor seating, I recommend Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch ~~ I liked being able to choose thin-sliced pork sliced fresh to order across different cuts, and the self-serve bar with kimchi, bean sprouts, green onion kimchi, mushrooms, and more meant we never got tired of it even by the end ~ In particular, the combination of rolling thin-sliced pork belly into the cold kimchi noodle soup is something I really want to recommend personally ㅜㅜ And especially in weather like this, eating meat outdoors rather than indoors is its own special treat, right?! If you want to sit at an outdoor table on a cool evening with pork belly and a cold drink, this Nonhyeon pork belly spot, Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch, might be worth a visit ~~
