Adult comedy play in Jongno: high sexual content at Suspicious PT Shop

In short

Suspicious PT Shop is an adults-only, 80-minute comedy play at Nine Theater near Hyehwa Station in Jongno, Seoul. I watched it with my boyfriend and laughed throughout, but its sexual content was much stronger than expected, so it felt better suited to adult couples or friends than families.

What kind of play is Suspicious PT Shop?

My boyfriend and I wanted to see something a little different, so we booked Suspicious PT Shop, a Daehangno play. It is an adult comedy set in an out-of-the-way personal-training gym, open to audiences aged 19 and over, with an 80-minute running time. The original post listed it as an open run from Sep 12, 2025.

How did I find the theater entrance from Hyehwa Station?

The venue is Nine Theater (나인 씨어터), close to Hyehwa Station. Its address is 서울 종로구 대학로8가길 30, or 30 Daehak-ro 8ga-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea, and it is on basement level 1. The sign was not large, so it was easier to find by looking for the entrance banner.

Posters lined the way down the stairs, along with a sign for the basement level. The stairs were narrow and rather steep, though, so I went down carefully.

At the bottom, actor banners lined the wall. The phrases hinting at the play's bold atmosphere made me a little nervous.

There was also a playful sign saying that people with weak hearts should not enter. I read it as a joke before the show, but afterward I understood why they had used that wording.

Was the lobby good for waiting or taking photos before the show?

Inside the lobby, a hair salon set from an earlier production was still in place. With shampoo chairs and full-length mirrors, it was arranged to look like a real salon.

A salon chair also stood in front of a record-shop backdrop. It felt like a photo zone where it would be nice to take pictures before the show.

The salon desk had a diffuser and lighting as well. The props were detailed enough that, at first, I wondered whether it was an actual business.

An evacuation map on the wall showed the waiting room and seating locations, so I looked it over before going in.

There was also a framed sign pointing toward the PT Shop theater. Following the arrow made it easy to find my way inside.

The lobby was styled like a café, which made it a pleasant place to wait. I picked up my ticket at the information desk and could use the water dispenser and coffee. Large actor photos hung on the walls.

A spin bike and exercise equipment were displayed on one side. I thought it was fun that the props matched the play's PT Shop setting.

An open sign hung on the theater entrance door. This was the door we entered through when it was time to go in.

How were ticket prices and seat assignments explained?

I picked up a leaflet in front of the theater. The prices listed in the original post were ₩69,000 for standard seats and ₩99,000 for special seats. The performance runs for 80 minutes and is for audiences aged 19 and over only.

Even the theater curtain was decorated with a gym atmosphere. The whole space felt like one PT Shop, so I naturally got immersed in the setting before entering.

Next to the actor profiles was a notice saying that re-entry was not possible if you left during the performance. I was told that seats were unassigned and allocated from the front in booking order.

What were the seating view and PT Shop stage like?

Once I was seated, the changing lights set the mood for the performance. It is a small theater, but the rows had a good height difference, so I felt the view was good.

The stage even had a squat rack. The set, designed like a real gym, suited the story unfolding in an out-of-the-way PT Shop.

How strong is the sexual content, and who is it good to see with?

Honestly, the sexual content was much stronger than I expected. There were several scenes that made me gasp in surprise. I think it would be awkward to see with family, so it felt more suited to adult couples or friends who are comfortable with this kind of material.

The audience gave loud applause during the curtain call. I was so absorbed that I barely noticed how the 80 minutes passed.

We came out laughing our hearts out for the first time in a while. I thought couples who have been together for a long time might enjoy it more comfortably. Still, it is best to choose it knowing that it is a high-intensity adult comedy rather than expecting a light romantic comedy.
