Korean head spa in Dongtan for crown flaking: Haru Dupi
In short
Haru Dupi Dongtan 1st Branch is a scalp and hair loss care center on basement level 1 of the Dongtan Paragon commercial building in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. After a one-on-one scalp photo consultation with the director, the writer had a circulation treatment for crown flaking and a dry scalp, running from trapezius and neck fascia release to seaweed pack scaling, a second shampoo, and a device mist. The before-and-after photos at Haru Dupi showed the flaking visibly lifted, enough to book again.

Hi, this is Baby Tiger. The weather's warming up a lot, but my hair still feels greasy and my crown looks like it's thinning, so it's been a while since I got scalp care done haha. Today I'm sharing my visit to Haru Dupi Dongtan 1st Branch, a well-loved scalp care spot in Bansong-dong.

Where is Haru Dupi Dongtan 1st Branch, and where do you park?
Haru Dupi Dongtan 1st Branch is on basement level 1 inside Dongtan Paragon. Park in the Paragon commercial parking lot, and since it's in the 102-dong building, take the commercial elevator up — Haru Dupi comes into view right away.

As soon as you step off the elevator, you'll spot Haru Dupi, a scalp and hair loss specialty center in Bansong-dong :)

I booked ahead before visiting. This place is pretty famous, so if you don't want to wait, I'd recommend making a reservation haha.

Waiting area and the one-on-one consultation with the director
At Haru Dupi Dongtan 1st Branch, you fill out a short consultation form and then have a one-on-one talk with the director. I took a few photos while waiting briefly — the waiting area felt cozy, and each treatment room was kept private.

Usually it's a consultation manager who does this part, but here the director herself handles it, which made me trust the place more. And her hair was genuinely thick and full. So my trust went up even more, haha.

What the scalp camera showed: crown flaking and dryness
Looking at the photos she took, sure enough my crown area was thinning, with flaking and some inflammation scattered around. She said my scalp had gone through some hair loss progression that had since stopped, and that it was producing extra oil because it was actually dry underneath, ugh. Still, she said the good news was that the hair density was thick enough that it didn't look like visible hair loss from the outside.

She could also see areas where capillaries showed up red around tense spots near the optic nerve area, tied to everyday habits. She went through each section so thoroughly that I really felt like — okay, this is what an expert looks like. In the end she recommended the circulation treatment and I decided to go with it 😁

She also gave me tea while I waited. I asked for iced hibiscus, and isn't the cup just so cute? I drank it in one go, then got shown to the changing room, put on slippers and a robe, and headed to my assigned room 😁

What happens during the circulation treatment, step by step
The circulation treatment at Haru Dupi Dongtan 1st Branch started with releasing the trapezius and neck fascia. She explained that tension in the trapezius and neck can block blood flow to the scalp, so she carefully worked through the fascia using a device, hand techniques, and gua sha tools. You can adjust the pressure by chatting with the director as you go haha. Just this part alone left my neck and shoulders loose and my whole body feeling lighter — it was honestly surprising. I love lying down, so I got the entire treatment done lying flat, ha.

I just had to lie comfortably in the chair while scrolling my phone. The director and I ended up in small talk, and she was genuinely fun to chat with, so time flew by while we chattered away, haha.

This is the trapezius and neck release in action — the pressure was no joke. It felt like each muscle was being untangled one by one, done so meticulously section by section. It was more relieving than most upper-body massages I've had.

Seaweed pack scaling and the steam stage
If you'd rather sit up, you can get this part done sitting too. Afterward, she applied a seaweed pack to my hair, which she said also works as thorough scalp scaling on its own. She spread the cooling pack on carefully and followed it with a steam treatment.

Two shampoos and the pressure-point massage
After the treatment, she washed my hair — in two rounds, using two different shampoos, as she explained. She followed with a thorough treatment application and finished with a pressure massage, which was honestly blissful... her hands were so strong that my headache completely disappeared.

Device mist and how the session wraps up
After that, I went back to lie down again while she gave my hair a simple towel dry, then sprayed mist across the entire scalp. It wasn't just a spray bottle — it was applied with a device, so the mist came through with a burst of air, feeling cool and like it absorbed really well haha. She mentioned the formula is good for the scalp but also gentle enough to touch skin.
Then she finished by drying the scalp with cool air — done! I dried the rest of my hair myself and moved on to the after-consultation.
Before and after: did the crown flaking lift?
During the after-consultation, she showed me the before-and-after comparison, and the scalp flaking had clearly changed. The top photo is after, the bottom is before. Seeing it cleanly cleared off was really something haha. If you're looking for scalp care in Bansong-dong, I'd recommend Haru Dupi :) I'm definitely planning to go back — recommended!
