Seoul Korean BBQ with unlimited noodles and stew: Pujutgan
In short
Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom is a pork belly Korean BBQ restaurant in Seongdong, Seoul, near Wangsimni Station. Three diners ordered three servings of pork belly (₩20,000 each) on a Saturday opening time, and since they ordered meat per person, they got unlimited refills of kimchi stew, doenjang stew, water naengmyeon, spicy bibim naengmyeon, and nurungji (scorched rice tea/soup) in turn. The desserts alone filled everyone up so much no extra meat order was possible — a solid pick for group dinners and gatherings.

If you're looking for a pork belly restaurant in Haengdang-dong, Wangsimni... you have to visit Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom! I went back for a repeat visit — it's a Wangsimni Station BBQ spot that's delicious every single time. Let's get into the review!

Go at Saturday opening time and you can even photograph the empty restaurant
I timed my visit for the two o'clock Saturday opening at Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom. Luckily I was the third customer in, so I got to take photos of the empty dining room! Just so you know — this Haengdang-dong, Wangsimni pork belly spot fills up almost completely during peak hours.
The menu and ordering at Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom

They serve both beef and pork. Since our wallets were running empty, we decided on pork belly. There were three of us, and we ordered three servings of pork belly — we got so full we couldn't even order more!

Just a heads up — in summer they leave the egg out of the naengmyeon (cold noodles) to prevent food poisoning.

Unlimited naengmyeon, nurungji, stew, and noodles
This place is seriously amazing — if you order meat matching your headcount, the naengmyeon, nurungji, stew, and noodles are all unlimited. So after eating naengmyeon and stew, we were absolutely stuffed.

I got so excited thinking about grilling meat on that well-oiled cauldron-lid grill!

Generous side dishes and unlimited wrap veggies
The basic side dishes were really plentiful too — seasoned lettuce salad, well-ripened napa cabbage kimchi, and mushrooms.

They also gave us wild garlic leaves, fresh lettuce, and perilla leaves for wraps. The staff refilled everything before it even ran low — such a thoughtful touch!

Three servings of pork belly, grilled right at the table by staff
Pork belly, ₩20,000 x 3 servings. Just looking at the color, there's no way it isn't delicious!

Confirmed: this is a great pork belly spot in Haengdang-dong, Wangsimni... They say pork always tastes best when it's a fresh pinkish-red color (just between us).

When they load the grill with meat, mushrooms, onions, and kimchi, it's an absolute visual masterpiece.

The staff grill the meat themselves and cut it into perfect bite-sized pieces, browning it nicely — all I had to do was get ready to eat!

Ahh... I'm already craving more pork belly ㅠㅠㅠ Am I the only one drooling here?

My favorite part — wrapping the meat in lettuce. The fat-to-lean ratio on the pork belly was so perfect, chewy yet clean-tasting, absolutely delicious!

The moment I took my first bite of pork belly, I ordered a beer! I don't usually drink during the day, but coming to this Haengdang-dong, Wangsimni pork belly spot, I just had to, haha.

Why it's fine to order both kimchi stew and doenjang stew
You can choose between doenjang (soybean paste) stew and kimchi stew, but honestly, you can order both!!! Because it's unlimited refills anyway. We ordered kimchi stew first, and the kimchi was already so tasty that the broth was incredibly refreshing, plus it was packed with meat and tofu — genuinely delicious!

Water naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon
I'm usually a bibim naengmyeon person, but lately I've been craving water naengmyeon more, you know? When I ordered it, the broth looked refreshingly cold just from looking at it. Seasoned with vinegar and mustard, it was the perfect dessert.

I also snapped a photo of my husband's bibim naengmyeon! I tried a bite and it was sweet with a slight kick of spice — the kind of taste that keeps you coming back for more.

The doenjang stew with beef brisket was even tastier
Since the dessert quality was so good even though it was unlimited, everyone said they wanted to try the doenjang stew too, so we ordered it! (We didn't leave any leftovers, though :) With plenty of beef brisket, the broth passed the taste test right away! Plus it was loaded with zucchini, radish, tofu, and potato — really delicious!

They immediately brought a bowl of rice to mix in. The kimchi stew was good too, but the doenjang stew was a touch better!! If I could only order one, I'd go with the doenjang stew.

We even ordered the nurungji on the staff's recommendation
Well, no wonder we couldn't order more meat... We also ordered the nurungji (scorched rice tea/soup) that my husband absolutely loves. I was on the fence, but a staff member recommended it, saying it was genuinely delicious — and it really was warm and nutty!
Stuffed to the brim from a weekend lunch at this Haengdang-dong pork belly spot, Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom. I'll wrap up my review by recommending it as a spot for group dinners and gatherings! (If I'm looking for a Wangsimni pork belly restaurant, I'm going here without question.)
