Today I'm bringing you a review of Baekcheongu Kalguksu, a restaurant in Yongin's Dongbaek neighborhood specializing in mandu jeongol (dumpling hot pot), plus all the menu and price info. Monday again already — hope you all had a good weekend! I went on a drive out to Yongin last weekend after a while. Wanted lunch and a nice drive at the same time, and while trying to decide what to eat, the weather was so nice I suddenly craved mandu jeongol, so that settled it. I personally really love the mandu jeongol here at Baekcheongu Kalguksu. The dumplings aren't the premade kind — they make them by hand — which is exactly why I love this menu! And sure enough, I ate well again this time.

How to get there from Dongbaek E-mart

Here it is — Baekcheongu Kalguksu, the mandu jeongol specialist in Yongin Dongbaek! Coming out of the main entrance of Dongbaek E-mart, turn right and walk straight for about 200m and you'll find it. It's about a 5-minute walk from the E-mart.

You can park on the street right in front of the restaurant. Parking in the alley behind the building also works, and there's always the restroom parking lot at Saemul Park right next to Dongbaek Elementary School! I parked right out front and headed in.

What's the vibe inside?

Here's a peek at the interior of Baekcheongu Kalguksu in Yongin Dongbaek, photographed on the spot. True to a restaurant that makes its own noodles fresh, sacks of premium noodle flour were stacked right in the dining area. They make fresh noodles daily using their own noodle-making technique, and the chewy texture really brings out the deep seafood flavor — that's the real charm of kalguksu and mandu jeongol here.

I ordered mandu jeongol for two, and this delicious barley rice comes out first! Add some yeolmu (young radish greens) and bean sprouts, drizzle sesame oil, mix it up, and you've got a tasty bibimbap! I enjoyed it as an appetizer before the mandu jeongol!

Seafood mandu jeongol for two, dumplings chosen as meat

The mandu jeongol for two I ordered arrived. A delicious dumpling hot pot with the deep savory flavor of clam broth and plenty of fresh seafood!! The perfect harmony of seafood broth and dumplings is what makes this dish shine. You can choose kimchi dumplings, meat dumplings, or half-and-half. I went with meat dumplings!!

I ate it up happily. I loved that there was plenty of seafood, but personally, what I loved most was how good the dumplings themselves were. The broth was refreshing, the dumplings were delicious — Baekcheongu Kalguksu never fails to send me home satisfied ^_^
