Chicken and fish tacos plus fajita rice wrap at Taqueros, Magok

You know those days when you're tired of your usual go-to meals and want something different and delicious? Tacos are always one of the first things that come to mind for me. This time I went hunting for a good taco spot in Magok and ended up at Taqueros, which really nails the Mexican vibe.

I didn't want to just have a few tacos and leave — I wanted the full experience with fajita and tacos both. And honestly, once it all arrived, I realized this spread is way more generous than I expected. Haha.

The atmosphere at Taqueros near Magok Station

The entrance grabs your attention right away! A red door with the TAQUEROS sign is visible from a distance, so you know exactly where you're headed. It doesn't feel like a regular restaurant entrance — more like the mood is about to completely change once you step through that door.

So, let's go in! Once you open the door, the vibe from outside continues right on through. The red-toned interior definitely has personality.

Here's the whole space: red sofas, red walls, and words like TACO, FAJITA, QUESADILLA, CHIMICHANGA, ENCHILADA, BBQ RIBS written up near the ceiling — it all adds up to a pretty exotic atmosphere. I was technically eating in Magok, but for a moment it felt like I'd landed in a restaurant in another country, haha. If you're looking for a Magok date spot with a different vibe than usual, this could be a great pick.

What's in the Signature Couple Set for two

So what did we actually order?

We went with the Taqueros Signature Couple Set for two! The base price is ₩56,000, and you can choose either fajita or Texas BBQ ribs as the main. We picked fajita without a second thought — honestly, once fajita is on the menu next to tacos, there's no resisting it, haha.

For the tacos, we chose one chicken taco and one fish taco. Comparing two kinds is always more fun than sticking with just one. Drinks are separate, so we added an apple mango ade for +₩3,500.

When you can't decide between tacos and fajita, this set solves the problem. Haha. Before the mains arrived, nachos came first!

Nachos and cheese sauce

While we waited, the nachos showed up first — crispy nachos with yellow cheese sauce on the side. I thought this was just a little something to snack on while waiting…

But once you start really dunking them in that cheese, the story changes fast. Haha. Crispy nacho + smooth, savory cheese. I'll just have one → okay, one more → wait, why is this pile shrinking so fast? My hand kept reaching in even before the main dishes arrived.

And the apple mango ade we added! Such a vivid color, right? It's sweet and refreshing, so it was great for taking a sip between rich bites of meat and cheese sauce.

The fajita platter and two tacos, all at once

Finally, the mains arrived!

Whoa…! When everything lands on the table at once, you end up taking photos before you even pick up a fork. A big sizzling fajita platter on the left, two tacos on the right! In between, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and more sauces filled up the rest of the table. I came looking for a good taco spot in Magok, but honestly this spread made the fajita just as much the star of the show. Haha. Plenty of tortillas too — they really don't hold back!

The tortillas that go with the fajita are set up like this. You could just eat the meat on its own, but the real fun of fajita is picking your own ingredients and wrapping it yourself! Once that starts, it low-key becomes a competition — who can make the better wrap? Let's take a closer look at the fajita first.

Up close, the platter is loaded with all kinds of things — seasoned meat, chicken, shrimp, and pulled meat that shreds along the grain, all packed onto one sizzling plate. I liked that you're not stuck with just one flavor the whole meal — you get to mix and match.

Chicken taco vs. fish taco — how different are they?

First up, the chicken taco! Vegetables, tomato, meat and sauce are piled generously onto the tortilla. Looks like you could take a neat little bite, right? Wrong!! Leave your elegance at the door when you sit down for tacos here, haha.

And this side is the fish taco! Long, crispy fried fish topped with plenty of vegetables and sauce. Fried fish alone can feel a bit heavy, but with the vegetables and sauce it ends up tasting relatively fresh and light. Personally, the fish taco was more of a standout than I expected.

Holding the chicken taco and fish taco together for one shot! Even the sauce colors are different, so you can tell them apart just from the photo. And they don't skimp on the filling at all — both feel heavy the moment you pick them up, haha.

Take a bite and it's packed all the way through! It's not just generous on the outside — the meat and vegetables go all the way in, so every bite has real texture.

With the fish taco, you can see the crispy fish flesh once you bite in. Crunchy outside, tender inside — a great combo with the sauce and vegetables. Now, time to dig into the fajita, haha.

Going through the fajita platter, ingredient by ingredient

First, the richly seasoned meat! It's well seasoned, so even a small amount in the tortilla makes its presence known. Add sauce and the flavor gets even deeper — a great match if you love Mexican food.

There's also meat that pulls apart easily along the grain. The soft, shredded texture makes it really easy to load into a tortilla — a little too easy, honestly. 'Just a little bit…' I tell myself, and next thing I know the tortilla is already bulging, haha.

A bite of the glossy chicken too! There are light grill marks on the outside and the seasoning really soaks in, so it's tasty on its own — and once wrapped in a tortilla with other sauces, it takes on a whole new flavor.

The rice hiding under the meat

And then there's the rice hiding underneath the meat! It soaks up the seasoning and juices from the fajita platter, so the rice itself ends up packing a lot of flavor. At first I thought, 'wait, am I really putting rice in a tortilla too?' — and yes, I did!! And yes, it was delicious, haha.

Can't forget the shrimp either — plump shrimp coated in a slightly spicy seasoning, perfect to pick out between bites of meat. One tortilla with meat, the next with shrimp — the combinations kept changing.

How we mixed and matched the sauces

Okay… now it's sauce time!

First, guacamole. Smooth and savory, it mellows out the whole flavor when mixed in with meat or shrimp. Personally, my hand kept reaching for this one while wrapping tortillas.

A fresh side with tomato and onion! With so much meat going in, you need something bright like this every so often. A little bit cuts the richness and adds some texture.

The cheese sauce — does this even need an explanation? A thick, smooth layer of cheese over the meat and you've basically got a can't-go-wrong combo. If you're a cheese person, don't hold back — go heavy, haha.

Sour cream too! When the meat and sauces start feeling a bit too rich overall, a little sour cream softens everything out.

And red salsa on top of all that! Plenty of options at this point. Guacamole in, salsa in, cheese in, sour cream in… at this point it's less a restaurant and more my own personal taco lab!

Wrapping the tortillas ourselves

Alright, let's build our own~~~~

I laid out a tortilla and piled on meat, rice, and shrimp. Then a little guacamole and cheese on top! Of course, if you get greedy and overload it, folding becomes a problem. I know this and do it anyway, haha.

Fold in both sides and you've got a pretty decent-looking wrap! Making it yourself is definitely more fun than just eating what arrives on a plate. Could be fun for a couple to each build their own on a date, and I think kids would enjoy it too.

Look at the cross-section of the finished tortilla — packed to the brim, right? Rice, meat, shrimp, tomato, and sauce all in one bite, and I thought, ah, this is exactly why people order fajita! Once you start wrapping and eating, even knowing you're full, you end up going 'just one more with this combo…'

If you're looking for something different in Magok, the Signature Couple Set at Taqueros was great for enjoying tacos and fajita together in one meal. Getting to pick one chicken taco and one fish taco let us compare two flavors, and building our own fajita wraps with meat, chicken, and shrimp made the whole meal a lot more fun.

On top of that, the distinctive red-toned interior makes it feel like a step outside an ordinary dinner — good for a day when you want something a bit different. If you're searching for a good taco spot in Magok or craving Mexican food on a date there, it's worth a visit.
