Over the weekend, I was looking for a good Yangju restaurant where I could take my parents out, and I found Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch in Mansong-dong.

Let me tell you in detail how the galbi (Korean grilled ribs) won over everyone, young and old.
Parking, reservations, and a tip for requesting first-floor seating
There was a large parking area in front of the restaurant, so we parked comfortably without worrying about it being full.
That said, I absolutely recommend making a reservation on weekends. We had booked ahead, but when we arrived, about five or six groups were waiting at the door. It would have been a disaster if we had come without a reservation.
You can reserve by phone, or through Naver Map at least a day in advance. The restaurant has two floors, but there is no elevator to the second floor.

Since you need to take the stairs, guests with limited mobility can request a first-floor table when making a reservation.
The spacious second floor and self-service bar
The first floor had relatively few seats. There were disposable aprons hanging on the wall, too. We reserved for six and headed upstairs.

There were also a few empty tables marked as reserved besides ours. It seemed that reserved tables were usually set up on the second floor, so be sure to leave a note if you need the first floor.

We did have to go upstairs, but the second floor was spacious, comfortable, and nice. There were room-like spaces farther inside as well, which seemed great for group gatherings.
There was also a restroom on the second floor, which made it much more convenient.

As soon as you come up to the second floor, there is a self-service bar right at the front.

Lettuce was available at the self-service bar, although it did not come among the side dishes. (Maybe they simply forgot our table... or perhaps it does not normally come out....) If you need it, just help yourself at the bar.
There were wooden baby chairs on the first floor, while IKEA high chairs were available upstairs.
Galbi and meal options

The prices were not burdensome and there was plenty of variety, so it was easy to choose according to your taste. The galbi alone was divided into beef ribs, LA galbi, and Korean pork galbi, making it convenient to mix and match for the number of people and budget. There were also meal dishes such as galbitang (beef short-rib soup) and ppyeo-haejangguk (pork bone hangover soup), so on a day when meat feels like too much, it seemed you could simply order a soup dish.
Fresh Korean pork ribs and handmade marinated ribs

Please place the trays of side dishes on either side of the charcoal grill.

On one side were six side dishes, including kimchi,

and on the other were shredded onion, salad, yukjeon (pan-fried beef slices), and yukhoe (Korean beef tartare).

The yukhoe and yukjeon cannot be refilled; you need to order more separately. We ordered two servings each of handmade Korean pork galbi and fresh Korean pork galbi.

The fresh ribs arrived as one whole piece, and that was two servings, so the minimum order was two servings. They came as raw meat without pre-grilling, so we cooked them ourselves over the charcoal from the start.
Cooking the fresh meat slowly over charcoal gave it a proper smoky flavor, which made it even more satisfying. The meat quality was truly excellent: it was not dry at all, and the tender, juicy texture was a work of art.

The handmade Korean pork galbi was not overly sweet or salty, so it never became tiresome and kept disappearing. It had the perfect sweet-and-savory balance that young children and parents alike could enjoy without any strong preferences! Personally, I loved the fresh ribs lightly dipped in salt for their clean flavor, but my child said the marinated ribs were delicious and kept eating only those, haha.
Finishing with complimentary Hamheung naengmyeon
We ordered one bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) and one mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth). The portions were on the small side, as they were free, but they looked larger than the usual post-meal naengmyeon at a galbi restaurant.

The mul-naengmyeon, with little shards of ice floating in it, had an outstanding deep yet clean broth with rich umami. The thin, springy noodles characteristic of Hamheung naengmyeon soaked up the broth beautifully, and their slurpable texture was so appealing they went down in one breath.
The bibim-naengmyeon, topped with a sweet-spicy seasoning, really shone when wrapped with the golden charcoal-grilled marinated galbi! The sweet-and-savory meat juices and spicy-tangy noodle seasoning came together to cut right through the richness of the meat. It had a depth of flavor on another level from merely intense, ready-made naengmyeon. It was also a perfect clean finish after the meat, and the chewy noodles and clean broth let us end the meal feeling good to the last bite.

After-meal ice cream and iced coffee

After the meal, there was an ice cream machine on the first floor. Our child had the beginnings of a cold, so we did not give them ice cream and gave them only puffed-rice snacks, but normally it would make a nice after-meal dessert.

There were also separate cups of ice so you could have a refreshing iced coffee. These thoughtful little details are what make me want to return to a restaurant and leave me with a good impression.
Why it worked so well for a family meal with a child
It was a Yangju meat restaurant that was great for family visits, with so many other guests dining with children as well. The meat quality was good, and the complimentary Hamheung naengmyeon made the meal feel especially complete, so it was a Yangju favorite I would like to revisit. I recommend it broadly for a Yangju company dinner, family meal, gathering, or lunch! Next time, I will try the beef ribs~
