Seokchon Tombs hair salon root dye and CMC moisture clinic: Mad Hair

It had already been over two months since my last dye job... and at some point my hair got noticeably messy. It was time to get it sorted, so I went looking for a good root-dye spot nearby !! ✨ Mad Hair ✨

Where Mad Hair is, opening hours and parking

A 5-minute walk from Seokchon Ancient Tombs Station !! (about 10 minutes from Seokchon Station too) I came neatly by subway,, 💨

🚘 If you're driving, you can use the parking spot in front of the building! If there's no spot available, you'll need to use the paid lot in the building nearby (self-paid). I'd recommend taking the subway !!

Today I visited after booking a root touch-up + CMC moisture clinic with deputy director Yeonwoo !! Mad Hair is on the 2nd floor of the building, let's go right in !!

Mad Hair has a full glass window ! The weather was nice, so the view while getting my hair done was amazing hahaha🌿

I showed up right on time for my reservation and was seated right away as soon as I walked in !!

Hair before the service: roots grown out for two months

With over two months since my last dye job, the roots had grown out quite a bit.. messy ... please keep this before-photo in mind... now let's get right into the "root touch-up + CMC moisture clinic" !!

The root dye step by step, from scalp protectant to color check

At Mad Hair, before applying the dye, they carefully sprayed on a scalp protectant to minimize irritation to the scalp

Then they carefully applied the dye focused on the grown-out roots. Because they applied the scalp protectant beforehand, I had none of the stinging or discomfort I'd experienced with root touch-ups before — this time there was zero scalp irritation, totally fine

After enough time passed with the dye on ~ they checked the color along the way, then I moved over to get my hair washed 💨

CMC moisture clinic and the scalp massage

At this point, the CMC moisture clinic I got alongside it ! They did a scalp massage along with the clinic treatment, and it felt so relaxing and good that I nearly fell asleep.. 😴💤 In broad daylight... getting my dye and clinic done while resting so comfortably felt amazing...

After the shampoo and clinic were done, they blow-dried and styled my hair beautifully to finish ❤

!! Hair finished so neatly !! The root color blended naturally into my existing hair color ෆ And,,, the hair that was dry before the treatment turned so soft after the CMC clinic.. I kept touching it hahaha it felt like a stranger's hair, not mine...

Compared to before,, my hair looks so much cleaner overall ✨

Is the root dye and CMC clinic at Mad Hair worth it?

This time I got a root touch-up + CMC clinic at Mad Hair. I'd had experiences before where the overall tone didn't match after a root touch-up, so I was a little worried again this time, but that worry turned out to be unnecessary — the blend was so natural, totally satisfied !!

On top of that, adding the CMC moisture clinic actually made my hair even softer. When you keep up dyed hair, you worry about the color but also about damage to your hair — getting the clinic done at the same time as the root touch-up solved that worry ~!
