Mid-length bob cut for thick long hair at Heiro, a Jamsil hair salon

Taking care of a baby, there were so many moments when long, heavy hair felt like such a hassle. On top of that, I have a lot of hair, so even drying it was never easy. Since I kept half-drying it in a rush, I started worrying about my scalp health too, and I really wanted to lighten things up ㅠ.ㅠ

It had been a while since my last cut, so even if it cost a bit more, I wanted somewhere with real skill. After searching around, I ended up visiting Heiro Jamsil Lotte World.

How to get to Heiro Jamsil Lotte World from Jamsil Station

Heiro Jamsil Lotte World connects directly underground from Jamsil Station, so it's really convenient to get to even on bad-weather days~! And of course there's so much to see and eat nearby, so it feels a bit like an outing on top of getting your hair done.

If it's your first time, the route might be a little tricky. Just think 'I'm heading to Lotte World' and keep walking in that direction, and

take the escalator down under the sign that says 'Ice Garden.'

Once you ride the escalator down and look to the right, you'll see Heiro Jamsil Lotte World :)

You'd never expect a hair salon in a spot like this, but the stylists there are so skilled that it seemed like a lot of people find it by word of mouth.

Open until 8 p.m.: inside Heiro Jamsil and its promotion prices

Heiro Jamsil Lotte World is open until 8 PM, so it looked like a great option for office workers to drop by easily after work too.

The interior is quite spacious too. Even if there's a bit of a wait, the waiting area is comfortable enough that it seemed like a nice place to pass the time.

There were also some promotions running — like 30% off for first-time visitors, along with quite a few other discounted event prices.

For anyone who likes the service, buying a membership also seemed like a good idea — the price discounts looked pretty substantial.

It seemed like a lot of clients come in for clinic treatments, since there were quite a few clinic products kept on hand for regular customers.

It made me wonder if I should've gotten a clinic treatment instead of just a cut.

There was even an LG Styler. With so many office workers around Jamsil, and the weather getting chillier with everyone wearing coats now, it looked like a handy way to keep outerwear fresh while you wait.

There was also a nice variety of drinks — Americano, instant coffee, roasted barley tea (dungulle-cha), green tea, orange juice, and more. Since it was evening, I asked for a cool glass of dungulle-cha.

What a 45,000 won design cut at Heiro includes, and why it took an hour

Here's a photo before the cut. There were already slight layers, but you can see how long and heavy the hair looks. It was so thick it felt weighed down too, and drying it took forever — it made the whole summer such a hassle to manage.

They brought out the cool dungulle-cha, so I sipped it comfortably while getting my hair cut. What really touched me was that they spent almost a full hour on the cut alone.

I got the design cut, which at ₩45,000 is ₩10,000 more than the regular women's cut at ₩35,000, but the difference was completely worth it~! Before cutting, they carefully assessed my hair texture and even gave me a thorough shampoo.

I still had a bit of leftover perm before the cut, so they kept a little curl in the upper section of my hair to make it easier to style.

The finished mid-length bob: thinner, lighter and easy to style

Even without blow-drying, the leftover perm curl made my hair fall naturally into soft waves. I'm hopeless even with a Dyson dryer on my own, so a hairstyle this easy to manage feels amazing ㅠㅠ

The length got trimmed down nicely into a light mid-length bob~! And with so much thinned out, my hair felt way lighter when I ran my hands through it~!

The amount of hair cut off was honestly wild... The result of an hour of careful work really paid off. It was the first time I'd ever had a cut that took a full hour.

They split my hair into two sections, cutting the lower layer and upper layer separately. Since it was cut while wet, both sides ended up perfectly even and neatly finished.
