Namjo-ro dessert café in Jeju: sharing mango bingsu for two, Lala Cafe
In short
Lala Cafe is a Jeju apple mango specialty café on Namjo-ro in Jocheon-eup, Jeju. The Jeju apple fresh mango bingsu for two (₩49,000) and an americano were enough for my child and me, with the syrup served on the side so the sweetness could be adjusted — and the "for two" size was really enough for three or four. The pure sweetness of the fresh mango is what stays with you at this Jocheon apple mango bingsu spot.

Today I'm introducing Lala Cafe, an apple mango bingsu (shaved ice dessert) spot in Jocheon, Jeju. I only found out after moving to Jeju that there's such a thing as Jeju-grown apple mango. You can buy fresh apple mangoes directly on Jeju, but you can also enjoy them as bingsu like this. So let's get into my review of Lala Cafe, a place to eat Jeju apple mango bingsu!
Where is Lala Cafe? Jocheon location, parking and hours
Lala Cafe is located at 1843-1, Namjo-ro, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do, South Korea, Building 1, 1F, Unit 201. It's open from 9:00 to 19:00, and there's a wide parking lot right in front of the store.

- Jeju apple fresh mango bingsu (for 2) ₩49,000
- Jeju apple fresh mango bingsu (for 4) ₩69,000

- Cake ₩4,000 ~ ₩8,000

The parking lot was spacious, so there was no worry about parking, which I liked. I parked and headed into the café.

The store was clean and spacious too. I could see lots of little touches the owner had clearly thought carefully about, scattered throughout the space.

There were plenty of coffee, tea, ade, and bakery options, but since we came specifically for the apple mango bingsu, we ordered that plus an americano without a second thought.

An apple mango specialty cafe: mango jelly and smoothies too
Since it's an apple mango specialty spot, they were also selling mango jelly. It seemed like it would make a nice gift, too.

Jeju apple fresh mango is only produced from April through November, so the window for eating fresh mango isn't long left. At Lala Cafe, you can enjoy mango not just as bingsu but also as a smoothie or juice.

Bakery and cakes at Lala Cafe
The bakery lineup was extensive too.

From salt bread and soboro bread (Korean streusel bun)...

...to garlic bread and chocolate chip cookies...

...all the way to sliced bread — there was really a huge variety of bread.

There were several kinds of cake too.

There was roll cake, cheesecake, and castella (sponge cake) as well.

How the Jeju apple fresh mango bingsu is served
We found a seat and waited, and before long the Jeju apple fresh mango bingsu and americano were ready. I don't think I'd ever thought to eat mango bingsu since living on Jeju. This ended up being my first mango bingsu on the island, and it happened at Lala Cafe. The mango came out really fresh and cut into big, generous chunks. I think my standards for mango bingsu are going to be higher from now on whenever I go looking for one.

They gave the syrup separately, which was great because I could adjust it to my taste. I'm not a huge fan of things that are too sweet. Being able to add just as much as I want feels like the best way to eat it.

Apparently Lala Cafe's mango bingsu is made with premium mangoes grown at the same theme farm that supplies the Shilla Hotel. I haven't tried the Shilla Hotel's mango bingsu yet, but it was nice to get to try mangoes grown at the same farm.

Is the bingsu for two enough for three or four?
The mango was piled on generously in big chunks. Even though it's listed as a serving for two, it was a big enough bingsu that three or four people could easily eat their fill.

Underneath the mango, the snow-flake shaved ice was ground incredibly finely and smooth.

The mango pieces were big enough to fill up a whole spoon. Taking a scoopful that filled my whole mouth was truly delicious. My kid loves mango too, so they ate it up happily.
Rather than an artificial sweetness from syrup, the flavor came from the natural sweetness of the fresh mango itself — I think Lala Cafe's apple mango bingsu, a must-try spot for apple mango bingsu in Jeju, will stay in my memory for a long time. If you're craving apple mango bingsu around the Jocheon area, I'd recommend Lala Cafe!
