Hey everyone, how's the weekend going!! The weather was so nice it felt like a waste to stay home, so I frantically searched for a café with a garden and ended up finding somewhere great.

It's Goyang's 'Baedagol Bakery House,' which those in the know already know about, but to cut to the chase — this place is absolute healing!! It's perfect for a weekend drive, so here's the review.

What is the garden like at Baedagol Bakery House in Goyang?

Baedagol Bakery House is a garden-style bakery café on Hoguk-ro 1121beon-gil in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. I'm always surrounded by buildings and roads, so I wanted somewhere open for the weekend — and I was impressed from the entrance.

Just a short distance from downtown and even the air feels different? Above all, the 'garden' here is really the main point. A well-kept, lush green garden spreads out wide, and my chest just opened up the moment I walked in. Sitting at an outdoor terrace or lawn seat on a nice day, you lose track of time because the garden view is so pretty ㅜㅜ

Warming your own bread at the self-service zone

One side of Baedagol Bakery House has a self-service bar and self-service zone set up separately. When you go to bakery cafés a lot, the bread is sometimes a bit cold or you wish it were crispy on the outside, soft inside!

All the equipment is set up in the self-service zone so you can warm your bread to your liking. That kind of thoughtful detail~~ this is a café that really knows what it's doing!!

This visit happened to line up perfectly with the season menu timing. Melon items were out for a limited time, so there was no way I couldn't order them. Review of the menu below!!

It might sound like a small thing, but it can get surprisingly hot sitting at the outdoor terrace seats, so the owner's thoughtfulness here is a perfect ten out of ten..🥹

Why Baedagol works with kids: the sand play kids' care zone

And great news for anyone visiting with nieces, nephews, or kids — this place operates a kids' care zone, and there's a separate sand play space set up so children can play safely!!!

Kids can lose track of time playing in the sand play area in a corner of the garden while the adults relax and enjoy coffee — there's really nowhere better for family visitors.

Inside Baedagol Bakery House and its bakery counter

After finishing up in the garden, walking indoors you're greeted by a sleek, clean interior. Full-length windows let you see the garden scenery from inside too, so there's zero sense of being cooped up.

I went straight for the bakery counter, which had trays lined with mouthwatering bread. The sweet, nutty bread smell was overpowering, so I really agonized over what to pick... The visuals alone deserve a gold medal!

How does the season-only melon yogurt smoothie taste?

A refreshing, sweet melon aroma spreads through your whole mouth... the combo of tangy yogurt and sweet melon is insane. There's actual fresh melon on top, so it's rich and smooth without getting sickly sweet, all the way to the last sip.

There's melon overflowing, and they seem to have piled on only the best, juiciest part of the melon… the juiciness is no joke. Definitely order the season menu — the 'overload' items are a must.

Basil tomato bread and pain au chocolat

The breads I picked alongside the drink were all winners too. Basil tomato bread & pain au chocolat.

The combo of slightly bitter, fragrant basil pesto and tangy tomato is a can't-go-wrong pairing.ㅠㅠ The bread crust is chewy too, so the flavor explodes the more you chew. The pain au chocolat has visible layers — crispy outside, moist inside, the textbook definition of that. There's plenty of chocolate inside too, so it's a proper sugar recharge. Warm it up just slightly in the self-service zone and the chocolate melts softly for even better flavor!!

A day spent getting away from downtown, healing in a garden full of green views, and fully enjoying the delicious season melon drink and bakery items. 😎 The thoughtfulness stood out, from the wireless fan rental to the sand play area, and I definitely want to come back again.
