Jwa-dong pork ribs restaurant, 11:30 weekend booking: Seokok Galbi

In short

Seokok Galbi is a pork rib (galbi) restaurant on Jwadong-sunhwan-ro in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Booking the 11:30 weekend opening slot, the writer ordered three servings of Seokok Heukjang pork ribs and the ₩3,000 minsaeng kimchi stew, and picked up the free chodang sweet corn pot rice given to the first 10 parties. The marinated ribs, scored with 2,125 cuts and eaten with kelp wraps and seed jeotgal (salted seafood), were the highlight, making Seokok Galbi a solid choice for family meals or group gatherings.

The weather's gotten quite cool — is everyone eating well? Today I want to introduce a pork ribs restaurant that's been on my mind ever since I visited. It's Seokok Galbi, a Haeundae restaurant famous for its ribs.

Parking was really convenient since you can use the public lot in front of the E-Mart across the street. Inside, the space was spacious and comfortable — living up to its reputation as a famous Haeundae ribs restaurant, it looked perfect for a family meal or group gathering.

The 11:30 weekend booking and Seokok Galbi's eight basic side dishes

I reserved the 11:30 opening slot, so the basic side dishes were already set out when I arrived. I wondered what that red capsule was — turns out it was a vitamin. Seokok Galbi even looks out for your health.. 🖤

Seokok Galbi's eight side dishes were seasoned fish roe, pickled mustard leaf, wasabi, kelp wrap, green onion kimchi, barley ssamjang, pickled mint herb, and mala sauce. Great combinations to go with the meat, right? There was also a nice explanation of how to eat everything.

There was also a self-serve bar, so I could grab more of any side dish I ran low on without feeling awkward about it. It was hygienically managed too, so I could eat with peace of mind.

What we ordered at Seokok Galbi and what it cost

The signature dish here is definitely the '2125 Jangin Ribs'! Even the name sounds serious, right? Apparently they score domestic Korean pork raw ribs with 2,125 cuts.. crazy.

The rice dishes and side dishes were all put together to go well with the meat. The minsaeng kimchi stew felt like such a steal I couldn't not order it ㅠㅠ

Is the ₩3,000 minsaeng kimchi stew worth it?

The minsaeng kimchi stew came out first at Seokok Galbi — and this is only ₩3,000? They even gave us ramen noodles, plus there was a whole chunk of pork and lots of ingredients in it.

A bubbling stew with noodles added in — that's love right there.. 🖤 Definitely order it and fill up.

Look at all those cuts! It's a crazy-looking visual that clearly means the marinade will soak in beautifully.

My partner grilling away diligently haha. I went with the marinated ribs today, but now I'm curious to try the raw ribs too.

A piece of pork ribs with kelp wrap and seasoned fish roe on top

Eating the nicely browned meat wrapped in kelp with seasoned fish roe on top !!! Such a good combination. The kelp wrap plus fish roe combo has flying fish roe in it so it's crunchy and delicious, but my favorite combo was with the green onion salad. So good ㅠㅠ

Since I came during the opening slot, I got the chodang sweet corn hotpot rice that was on the order sheet without even asking for it. The look of it is amazing. The rice has a good chewiness, and eating it with that braised radish is genuinely delicious. Making sungnyung (scorched rice tea) at the end is pure happiness..

Seokok Galbi events and final verdict

Seokok Galbi is running several events too. There's a review event that gives you a drink or alcohol, hotpot rice for the first 10 teams, and fish cake soup on rainy days! And finishing with a yogurt drink made it the perfect meal haha.

If you're looking for a delicious ribs restaurant or a comfortable spot for a family meal in Haeundae, I genuinely recommend 'Seokok Galbi'! Between the taste, the great value of the stew, and all the different events, you're bound to have a really pleasant meal~~
