Goyang BBQ restaurant with salt-pepper-sesame oil dip: Neopttakjip

In short

Neopttakjip Samsong Branch is a Sancheong black pork BBQ restaurant near Exit 3 of Samsong Station in Goyang, Gyeonggi. The order was Sancheong black pork raw ribs with grilled vegetables and two bowls of rice, plus Neopttak spicy ramyeon received through a review event, and the staff's dipping order — salt first, then pepper, then sesame oil — was the highlight. The pork at Neopttakjip Samsong Branch is good enough to taste great even when grilled carelessly, and the seasoned scallion salad rounds the meal out.

I was hunting for a good meat restaurant near Samsong Station and ended up at Neopttakjip Samsong Branch! I was craving pork that day, and I came away more satisfied than I expected, so let me introduce it.

Where is Neopttakjip Samsong Branch? Right by Exit 3 of Samsong Station

Neopttakjip Samsong Branch is super close to Exit 3 of Samsong Station, so even on my first visit it was easy to find.

A big sign on the ground floor along the street made it easy to spot right away. (Is it semi-basement, maybe?)

Public transit access is pretty good, so this would be a great meeting spot too.

Inside Neopttakjip Samsong Branch: self-serve bar, private room, baby chairs

The interior of Neopttakjip Samsong Branch has that cozy vibe that's great for grilling meat.

Tables at Neopttakjip Samsong Branch with generous spacing

The tables aren't cramped, so it was comfortable to eat. The 4-top seats have an extra table attached to the round table, haha.

Entrance to the room seating on one side

There's a self-serve bar in the middle, and a room on one side too. (Funny that it literally has 'room' written on it.) There are baby chairs too, so families with little ones can come eat here.

Storage space under the chairs

You can store your bags under the chairs too~ Big bags won't fit though, so just in case, I'd recommend putting them up on the chair instead.

Looks like plenty of people have come through here.

On top of that, I got to enjoy the spicy ramyeon fully thanks to participating in the review event~

Thick raw cut of Sancheong black pork ribs

The Sancheong black pork raw ribs looked thick and fresh in their raw form — maybe that's because they'd been aged like that.

How it tasted, from the curry pasta side dish to the scallion salad

At Neopttakjip Samsong Branch, side dishes get laid out before the meat arrives, and this unnamed curry pasta(?) dish was really something special.

Sausage and rice cake on the grill
Grilled vegetables cooked alongside the meat

Sausage and rice cake come out too, and they're really delicious once you eat them around the time you finish the meat. (Why are even these so good?)

Maybe because it's black pork, but the flavor and nuttiness of the meat were definitely a cut above and really delicious.❤️ The grilled vegetables that came with it were a clean pairing to throw on the grill together with the meat. (—from someone who loves mushrooms)

Black pork raw ribs cooking on the grill

I'm usually not great at grilling meat and just kind of grilled it carelessly, but the meat itself was so good it still tasted amazing.

How to dip the pork: salt, then pepper, then sesame oil

A staff member kindly told us to dip the meat in salt, then pepper, then sesame oil in that order. It was delicious no matter which way we ate it, haha.

Default ssamjang, myeoljeot, and scallion salad

The default ssamjang and myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) also paired well with the meat. And I usually don't eat scallion salad much, but the seasoning on this one was so good I finished it all!

Neopttak spicy ramyeon received through the review event

This is the spicy ramyeon I got from the review event, haha. The rich, spicy broth cut right through the greasiness of the meat, and we topped it off with kimchi to finish~

Is Neopttakjip Samsong Branch worth it? Final verdict

★★★★★ (4.8 / 5.0) The meat quality here is good enough to taste great even when grilled carelessly, and the combination of scallion salad and sauces was perfect — a great find near Samsong. If you want good black pork near Samsong Station, definitely stop by!
