On a sleepy weekday lunch break, I headed alone toward Seonyudo Station because I was craving a properly juicy American-style burger—and wanted to shake off the work stress that had been building all morning. I ended up at BAS Burger Seonyudo, already considered a top pick among handmade-burger fans around Yeongdeungpo and Dangsan.

As soon as I walked in, stylish neon lighting welcomed me into a modern space with a slightly dark pub-like mood.

The interior was very clean and pleasant, with an efficient layout of two-person tables, four-person tables, and bar seating. It felt cozy and just right for someone like me to enjoy a meal or a beer alone without feeling awkward.

Choosing lunch at the kiosk

Ordering was simple and contactless through the in-store kiosk. I slowly scrolled through the menu, happily debating what to get.

Other bloggers had been full of praise for BAS Burger's standard patty, saying you cannot go wrong with any burger here. Today, I chose the Hawaiian Burger (₩10,200), known for its irresistible sweet-and-salty pairing of pineapple and bacon. I also added rich Cheese Bacon Fries (₩3,000), a cold, thick plain milkshake (₩6,000), and crispy Mozza Chicken Bites, 2 pieces (₩7,200), making it a very generous order. The total came to ₩26,400—a seriously filling solo lunch feast.

While waiting at my table, I noticed a notice about a Naver receipt photo-review event. If you write a review after payment with receipt verification and the required keywords, then show it to a staff member, you receive one whole-mozzarella cheese bar with a crispy outside and soft center. Definitely worth joining if you want to claim the perk.

Unlimited potato-chip refills while you wait

Another especially standout feature at BAS Burger was its unlimited refill system for the complimentary James Gam potato chips. While the burger was being cooked, I could freely pick up crisp, salty chips from the self-service bar and dip them in sauce, so the wait was not boring at all. Soon, every item I ordered arrived neatly arranged on a silver tray.

A generous burger and sides spread

The moment I saw it, the portion and mouthwatering presentation were so impressive that I could not hold back an exclamation. First, I took a sip of the plain milkshake, served full in a silver stainless-steel cup.

Its rich yet smooth, sweet, milky flavor filled my mouth and instantly washed away the morning's fatigue. It was wonderful through a straw, but dipping fries deeply into it delivered the ultimate sweet-and-salty combination. Next, I tried the Cheese Bacon Fries covered generously in yellow cheddar cheese sauce.

Freshly fried fries were crisp outside and fluffy inside, topped lavishly with melted, rich cheese sauce and finely chopped bacon chips cooked until crisp. A forkful brought salty, luscious cheese and crunchy bacon together in a highly addictive bite that made me desperately want a beer.

The Mozza Chicken Bites were crunchy and crisp on the outside, with tender chicken and plenty of mozzarella inside. They were a perfect match for the spicy sriracha mayo. Finally, I picked up the star of the day, the Hawaiian Burger, with both hands.

Between the thick, soft burger buns were beautiful layers of fresh green romaine lettuce, a beef patty bursting with juices, golden-grilled bacon, and a sweet pineapple slice. The instant I took a big bite, intense meat juices and smoky char filled my mouth. The bright, sweet juices of grilled pineapple came through after the savory, flame-grilled beef patty and perfectly cut through the richness of the meat. Even the bun had a subtle buttery aroma and a pleasantly chewy texture, so I ate every last bite in admiration. The balance of every ingredient was truly excellent, and I could absolutely see why so many people call BAS Burger a go-to handmade-burger spot in Dangsan and Seonyudo.

With its unbeatable location right in front of the station, pleasant interior, solo-diner-friendly atmosphere where I could eat comfortably without worrying about anyone else, and handmade burgers with outstanding juiciness and flavor, this was a perfect lunch in every way.
