An anniversary on the Han River with the kids

Not long ago, our whole family made some very special memories together for a special anniversary. We always visit the Han River, but this time we took a Sailing Paradise yacht tour, where we could enjoy a romantic, private time on the river with the kids~ It felt like an unusual date and family trip that rivaled an overseas resort, right in the middle of Seoul, so we were absolutely delighted!!

How early should you arrive for weekend Hangang Park parking?

We had a 4 p.m. reservation on Saturday. Knowing that parking at Hangang Park on weekends is incredibly hard to get, we planned generously and arrived around 2 p.m. It takes a long time just to enter the weekend Han River parking lot, so never arrive exactly at your reservation time—you can definitely come early!

Since we had the kids with us, they rode scooters, tossed a frisbee, and rode bikes. As they say, food comes first, so we even cooked instant ramen by the Han River, and time flew by. It was the perfect course with no chance to get bored before our 4 p.m. ride.

Three groups on one yacht, zero awkwardness!

Honestly, I was a little worried before boarding. Another couple was scheduled to ride with our family. Our children are still young, so I wondered whether they might spoil the other people’s date atmosphere or whether we would all feel uncomfortable. But once we got aboard, the cool river breeze and roomy, comfortable yacht made everyone warm up naturally, and we even took photos for one another.

Captains who looked after the kids

What touched me most was the two captains. They were so kind and made us feel so comfortable throughout the ride that they felt like our own uncles. They connected so well at the children’s level, prepared bubbles, and were incredibly considerate of them, so I could relax and enjoy the Han River views.

Welcome drinks and safety gear for the 50-minute ride

As soon as we boarded, the captains had welcome drinks and snacks ready. I was touched by the thoughtful touch of wine—the best way to set the mood—for the adults, and sweet juice plus cookies for the kids. 😍 That moment of having a glass of wine while looking over the Han River gave me the special feeling that I’d made it in life, haha. 🩷

Since we were riding with the kids, safety was another concern, but even the life jackets here felt different?! They were not the bulky, heavy, brightly colored old-style life jackets; they were stylish, lightweight modern ones. The children did not find them uncomfortable even after wearing them for a long time, and they could move around easily. 👍

Cutting through the cool river breeze, passing beneath Han River bridges, and looking at Seoul’s forest of buildings from the water—it was such a happy, dreamlike time that those 50 minutes felt far too short.

Sailing Paradise has a range of options to suit different themes and group sizes. There is everything from a large catamaran yacht for up to 11 people to private yachts available from a minimum of 2 people and for groups of 4 or more!
