A Saturday lunch reservation at a Gwanggyo Café Street restaurant

As the weather has been getting chilly lately, I can really feel summer passing and autumn arriving~ Let me introduce a great spot in Gwanggyo for wood-fired pizza and pasta. The European Gwanggyo has its main branch in Haenggung-dong! This location is on Gwanggyo Café Street!

With 12,000 reviews already, it is such a popular restaurant that I recommend reserving before you go! I visited for Saturday lunch and booked ahead. When I arrived, the second-floor dining room was almost full!

The European Gwanggyo is especially famous for its wood-fired pizza! So we ordered the Signature Basil Burrata Cheese Pizza and Bolognese Fresh-Pasta Lasagna! They also had a wide range of other choices, including salads and steak~

Signature Basil Burrata Cheese Pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The fragrant smell of basil wafted over as soon as it came out. I tore open the burrata in the middle and ate it with the pizza~ You can see the oil pooled underneath in the photos! Thanks to that oil, the center was moist while the edges felt even chewier by contrast!

The generous basil pesto and sun-dried tomatoes were an absolutely wonderful combination: fragrant, tangy, and savory. The seasoning was just right, and because it had just come out of the wood-fired oven, the crust was so chewy and crisp... It was the kind of flavor that made me want a beer.. haha. I do not usually seek out wood-fired pizza, but if it tastes like this, it was so good that I regretted not eating it sooner ㅜ

Bolognese Fresh-Pasta Lasagna ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The lasagna had a wonderfully soft texture, and the deep flavor of the ragù sauce really came through. There was plenty of sauce between every layer of pasta, making the flavor feel even richer, and the pasta itself was cooked tenderly for a seamless, excellent bite!

And the ragù sauce had such deep flavor. It was perfectly seasoned and so delicious that I wanted to scoop it up by the spoonful! I could never get this flavor when I made it at home... it was the kind of taste that made my eyes open wide and feel utterly blissful!

The two of us ordered these two dishes, and at first I thought it might not be enough, you know? But there was so much~ We ate until we were absolutely full. We are bigger eaters than we realized, so two dishes for two people should definitely be enough~!

Beyond the wood-fired pizza and pasta we ordered, there were plenty of other options such as steak and salads, which made me want to come back again!

Even the red front door gives a luxurious first impression. When you open it and walk in, there is a large dining room half a level down; take the stairs straight ahead to reach the second-floor dining room. The chandelier lighting and the interior gave off such a refined restaurant feel that it put me in a good mood for no particular reason!

These are photos of the second-floor dining room. The view outside from the window seats was pretty too. There were quite a few guests when I visited, but the tables were well spaced and the overall atmosphere was quiet, which I loved. It is also a great setting for a date with your partner.

If you are ever near Gwanggyo in Suwon, I recommend The European Gwanggyo, a great restaurant on Gwanggyo Café Street! The interior is so elegant and the atmosphere is lovely, making it a wonderful place for an everyday date with your partner or a special anniversary too!
