I visited Irojeong Gumi Geumosan Direct Branch (이로정 구미금오산직영점) while looking for a hearty dinner near Geumosan in Gumi. It had such a wide range of restorative dishes, from chueotang (loach soup) and goat soup to boiled pork, that it looked great for a family meal. My child ate really well too, so I think we'll be coming back often.
Once I got there, the food was one thing, but what surprised me most was how many customers there were. We visited a little early for dinner, yet by around 6 p.m. there were already more than 10 parties waiting. If you're planning a meal near Geumosan, I recommend arriving a little early to avoid the wait.
A Geumosan restaurant with spacious parking—what about the dinner wait?

Irojeong Gumi Geumosan Direct Branch is quite a large restaurant.
Does Irojeong Gumi Geumosan Direct Branch have parking?
There is a very spacious dedicated parking area. Parking can be a concern when looking for good restaurants around Geumosan, so I loved how easy it was to visit by car.
Still, as mealtime got closer, the number of cars and customers rose quickly. Even though we arrived just as the break time ended, people were already waiting; by the time we were eating, more than 10 parties were in line. If you're visiting for dinner, it seems best to come early, in the 5 o'clock hour.
Interior and self-service bar

Since the restaurant is large, the interior is spacious too. There are tables and private rooms, so making a reservation before visiting may be an option.
It opened in July 2026, so the interior is very clean.

The self-service bar is amazing—along with somyeon (thin wheat noodle) add-ons, it has side dishes and desserts all ready to go, including watermelon and Shine Muscat grapes.

Even the rice is free!
A playroom for visits with children
It's also great for visiting with children. There were motorcycle rides and arcade machines, making it a nice place to bring a child.

High chairs are fully stocked too!!
Self-service bar and waiting area to use while you wait
As I mentioned earlier, the wait here can be really long, but it doesn't make you unhappy haha. The waiting room has a variety of drinks and snacks ready.

From ssanghwa tea (traditional herbal tea) to barley puffs,

there are plenty of treats to enjoy while waiting, including sujeonggwa (cinnamon punch) and sikhye (sweet rice drink).
Restorative dishes from loach soup to goat soup

The menu centers on restorative food, from soup dishes such as chueotang and goat soup to fried loach and boiled pork.
This time, we ordered a set that included chueotang, goat soup, grilled mackerel, and boiled pork.
- Warm boiled-pork mushroom loach-soup set: ₩14,000 per person (minimum order of 2)
- Mushroom black goat soup: ₩18,000
- Ginseng assorted fried loach: ₩12,000
Even the basic side-dish spread was nicely put together. It was full of dishes that go well with chueotang.
If you're looking for good loach soup in Gumi

The goat soup and chueotang looked completely different in color, but both looked delicious haha.

First up was the chueotang. It was a great, hearty one-meal dish and suited a meal before or after hiking or an outing at Geumosan.

The rice was turmeric rice too, so it felt like a healthy meal.

Adding minced garlic and Cheongyang chili peppers made it even more savory. If you usually look for good chueotang in Gumi, it could be fun to compare it with the other restorative dishes here.

This was easily one of the most delicious chueotang dishes I've ever had. First of all, it was loaded with ingredients, so the portion was very generous.
And the broth!! It was rich and thick, really giving that restorative-food feeling.
Mixing in the somyeon noodles brings out another charm haha. I added more minced garlic and Cheongyang chili peppers, and it was nicely spicy.
A good Gumi goat-soup spot: compared with the loach soup

Next was the goat soup. It comes out red, with a spicy flavor as its defining feature.

There was a substantial amount of goat meat, and I loved being able to have meat with every bite.
It was sharper and spicier than the chueotang, but it had a charm of its own.
Warm boiled pork, grilled mackerel, and fried loach too

When you order the set, grilled mackerel and warm boiled pork come with it. It looks filling and good for you just at a glance, right?!
The meat was moist and tender, and it paired well with the side dishes served alongside it.

A little fried loach comes with the set too, but after eating it, I wanted more, so we ordered an individual portion.

It has ginseng and sweet potato too, so it was great to share with my child haha. Having a crispy dish between all the soup dishes made the menu feel more varied. If several people are visiting, I think it would be a good side dish to order.
Desserts given generously

There was even watermelon for dessert haha. It was really sweet and high quality. They also had Shine Muscat grapes, and were selling them separately.

The wait was long, so we gave up our table quickly and finished up with drinks and barley puffs in the dessert zone haha.
