Baegot Orange-dong restaurant for a three-dish lunch: Jeongssi Hambak

In short

Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch is a handmade hamburg steak and Korean-style Western restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Orange-dong building at Avenuefrance Baegot in Siheung, Gyeonggi. A Baegot resident ordered three dishes at once for lunch — hamburg omurice, bacon cream pasta and pork loin cutlet — and was struck by the plate sizes and portions, while the free pre-meal soupy tteokbokki (rice cakes in sauce) and water in a retro Del Monte glass bottle added to the old-school mood. With 2 hours of parking support and generous servings, Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch is worth a return visit for a neighborhood lunch.

I went for lunch at Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch, in Orange-dong at Avenuefrance Baegot! The portions were seriously huge and every single dish was so good that I left super satisfied — here's my review 🤍

How to get to Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch, and where to park

Path from the Orange-dong parking lot at Avenuefrance to the restaurant

Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch is on the 2nd floor of Orange-dong at Avenuefrance Baegot. The Avenuefrance building is huge, so you need to make sure you're heading to the right building ✨ When you park in the underground lot, just make sure to park along the 'Orange-dong' line, then take the elevator up to the 2nd floor — it leads straight into the restaurant, super convenient.

The parking spaces are nice and wide, so it's easy even for new drivers, and when you register your car at payment after the meal, they give you a generous 2 hours of parking support, so you can eat without rushing 👍

When I sat down, a nostalgic mini Del Monte glass bottle came out as the water bottle, and the retro vibe was so strong and endearing.

Free tteokbokki before the meal and the self-serve bar

While waiting after ordering at Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch, they bring out warm tteokbokki by default! And apparently you can even get one free refill 👏 Taking a bite of the soupy tteokbokki, it tasted exactly like the sweet-and-spicy stuff I used to buy at the stationery store in front of my elementary school, so I inhaled it before the main dishes even arrived ㅠㅠ.

At the self-serve bar I grabbed plenty of crunchy pickles and jalapeños, and the table was fully set up for the meal.

Three dishes ordered at once: how big are the portions?

There were so many dishes I wanted to try that I couldn't decide, so I just went for it and ordered three at once, figuring I'd eat until I was stuffed!

  • Hamburg omurice
  • Bacon cream pasta
  • Pork loin cutlet

As the dishes came out one by one, the plates were massive and the portions were literally mountainous, so I was shocked the moment I saw them lol

Top pick: the hamburg omurice

Hamburg omurice topped with handmade hamburg steak

The first thing I tried was Jeongssi Hambak's new menu item, the hamburg omurice! This is honestly a combo that everyone — young and old, no exceptions — would praise 🤍 A thin, soft layer of egg sits over sweet-savory special sauce, and on top of that a whole, hefty handmade hamburg steak (Korean-style hamburger patty) is placed.

When I cut it in half with a knife, it was thick and the juicy meat juices were still fully intact. Taking a big bite of the fluffy omurice topped with soft egg and hamburg steak was pure bliss.

Rich and savory bacon cream pasta

Next I tried the thick, creamy bacon cream pasta. There was plenty of salty, savory bacon packed between the noodles, and the sauce wasn't watery at all — the cream flavor was really intense 🥛

Every time I twirled the noodles onto my fork and took a bite, the deep flavor of the cream filled my mouth completely — it was the best. It also paired really well when eaten together with the other dishes.

Crispy, thick-cut pork loin cutlet

A plate of crispy-fried pork loin cutlet

Last was the pork loin cutlet, fried crispy on the outside and tender inside! The breading was crispy with distinct, oil-free layers, and the loin meat inside was thick but never dry — it was tender all the way through 👍

Dipping it deep into the sweet, savory cutlet sauce and eating it with rice, I kept reaching for more without ever getting tired of it. I finished every last bite without leaving anything behind.
