Jeongwang-dong Korean BBQ with 504-hour aged pork: Hamdon, Siheung
In short
Hamdon Jeongwang Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, Gyeonggi, built around 504-hour cross-aged Jeju pork belly. The order was two servings of 504 aged teukmokssal (thick shoulder loin) and one of fresh Jeju gapmaesal (pork skirt meat), grilled at the table by staff, with minari (water dropwort) wraps and bone broth soup as standard sides. Between the thick teukmokssal, the melt-in-your-mouth gapmaesal and the bibim naengmyeon, Hamdon is as strong on sides as it is on meat.

Whenever I want good meat these days, I naturally end up at a Korean BBQ place🥩 This time I'm writing about my visit to Hamdon Jeongwang Main Branch, known for aged pork, in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung😊
There are tons of meat restaurants in Jeongwang-dong, but this place suits people looking for something a bit more special than plain samgyeopsal. Since their signature menu is the 504-hour cross-aged Jeju ogyeopsal (pork belly), I visited hoping to really taste the meat itself😮

Hamdon's exterior: a Jeju feel with dol hareubang statues
Arriving at the restaurant, the 'Hamdon' sign caught my eye😎 The Jeju-style exterior decorated with dol hareubang (stone grandfather statues) gave off a different vibe from a typical BBQ place😊 It was a good photo spot right from the entrance, nice for marking that you actually visited😁

Inside Hamdon: seating and staff who grill the meat for you
Inside, the tables are neatly arranged with built-in grills at each one so you can cook comfortably😊 And since staff grill the meat for you, I could just relax and enjoy the meal😁

The overall wood-tone space felt warm and cozy, and the tables are spaced fairly generously, making it good for meals with friends or family outings😆
What we ordered at Hamdon: 504 aged teukmokssal (2 servings) and fresh Jeju gapmaesal (1 serving)

First, we ordered 504 aged teukmokssal, 2 servings, plus 1 serving of Jeju fresh gapmaesal😊 At Hamdon, minari wraps and bone soup come as basic side dishes!

How thick is Hamdon's 504 aged teukmokssal?
Is this thickness real?! I'm genuinely so satisfied with how thick it is😋 And since staff grill the meat for you, I didn't have to keep an eye on the grill throughout the meal, which was such a relief😊

Being able to focus on conversation while eating is great, so I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a spot for work dinners or gatherings in Jeongwang-dong😆

Fresh Jeju gapmaesal with minari wraps
The combination of well-cooked Jeju fresh gapmaesal (skirt meat) with minari wraps is honestly the best👍 The gapmaesal especially just melted in my mouth🤤

Homemade side dishes and an extra order of minari wraps
Hamdon seems to put just as much care into its side dishes as into the meat itself! They provide homemade sides as standard, good for mixing and matching with the meat😆 I especially loved the baek-kimchi (white kimchi)!

Eating meat non-stop can get a little heavy, but pairing it with wraps and side dishes makes it much cleaner and more enjoyable! There's also an extra minari wrap menu available, so if you like minari, it's worth ordering👍

Why you should order the bibim naengmyeon at Hamdon
Naengmyeon (cold noodles) is a must when eating meat🍜 The sweet-and-tangy noodles pair perfectly for anyone looking for a full meal🤤 I'm the type who believes a place with great side dishes is a truly great restaurant☝️ so I take naengmyeon-type sides very seriously — and this bibim naengmyeon is genuinely amazing...🩷 If you visit Hamdon's main branch, you have to order it!!

Is Hamdon worth it for Korean BBQ in Jeongwang-dong?
What stood out about Hamdon's main branch is that it's a Jeongwang-dong restaurant centered on aged pork with a variety of menu options😊 Combining the Jeju-inspired atmosphere with the comfort of staff grilling for you, it's a solid choice for friend gatherings, family outings, or work dinners👍
It especially suits people who want to try pork that's gone through an aging process, like the cross-aged Jeju ogyeopsal, rather than plain samgyeopsal! If you're looking for a BBQ place in Jeongwang-dong, it's worth comparing the menu and atmosphere and giving this one a visit🩷
