In short

Two servings of Wonang marinated galbi (76,000 won) grilled over charcoal plus a hanwoo gukbap (beef rice soup, 12,000 won) came to 94,000 won, and the marinated galbi was lightly sweet rather than sharp, with a tender bite. I was looking for somewhere to eat dinner in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon, and thought, let's actually eat some proper meat, so I went to Wonangmyeongga Dunsan City Hall Branch haha. Wonangmyeongga specializes in hanwoo (Korean beef), and the moment I walked in, the meat display case immediately caught my eye.

This time, instead of grilled hanwoo, I ordered the Wonang seasoned galbi and hanwoo gukbap (Korean beef soup with rice), and the seasoned galbi was so much more tender than I expected, super satisfying lol.
Where is Wonangmyeongga Dunsan City Hall Branch, and what are the parking and hours?
Wonangmyeongga Dunsan City Hall Branch is located at 41 Dunsanseo-ro, Seo-gu, Daejeon. It's near Daejeon City Hall and the city council, so it's a convenient spot to find when you're setting up a meal or a work dinner in Dunsan-dong haha.
The hours currently posted are 11 AM to 10:30 PM daily, and on-site parking is confirmed available. It's also walkable from Daejeon City Hall Station, so it's fine for public transit too. Most of all, having a BBQ restaurant with parking right in the middle of Dunsan-dong was pretty convenient lol.
Inside Wonangmyeongga: atmosphere and group tables
Walking inside, the vibe feels a bit calmer and more polished than a typical BBQ restaurant. Large photos of the meat and food Wonangmyeongga serves hang on the walls, and the warm lighting combined with the deep brick tones gave the whole place a solid, substantial feel haha.

The restaurant also has group seating, so it looked good not just for family meals but for work dinners or gatherings too. Near the entrance there was a display of what looked like gift items and ginseng liquor, and one bottle was priced at ₩75,000, which was fun to look at lol.

Wonangmyeongga serves 1++ grade hanwoo
In the meat corner on one side of the restaurant, bright red hanwoo cuts were on display. Signs around the store explained that Wonangmyeongga uses 30-40 month old hanwoo cows, and there was also a certification plaque for 1++ grade hanwoo cows haha. Looking at the display case, the cuts with tightly packed marbling looked really delicious. If I visit again, I'd like to try the Wonang assorted platter or some grilled hanwoo cuts lol.

Wonangmyeongga menu and prices
Looking at the menu, there's a wider variety than I expected, from grilled meats to rice dishes. The grilled items include Wonang seasoned galbi at 300g for ₩38,000, beef tartare-style raw slices at 200g for ₩30,000, yukhoe (beef tartare) at 200g for ₩25,000, and beef brisket, among others.
There's also grilled beef tripe and grilled large intestine, so if you like tripe and intestine rather than just hanwoo, there are options for you too haha. The rice dishes include galbitang (short rib soup), abalone galbitang, young cabbage galbitang, hanwoo hot pot bulgogi, hanwoo yukhoe bibimbap, and hanwoo gukbap. There's also naengmyeon (cold noodles) and dessert menus, which seemed good for wrapping things up after the meat lol.

What we ordered and the total bill at Wonangmyeongga
This time I ordered two servings of Wonang seasoned galbi (₩76,000), hanwoo gukbap (₩12,000), a drink (₩2,000), and the table setting fee (₩4,000). The total came to ₩94,000 haha.
One serving of Wonang seasoned galbi is 300g, so ordering two gave a pretty generous amount. Once the charcoal came out and the meat went on, the seasoning aroma rose up and I got hungry immediately lol.

How did the Wonang marinated galbi taste?
The meat is grilled over charcoal at the table. Since it's seasoned galbi, the surface can burn easily, so I flipped it often, and once it started browning nicely, the glossy sheen really came through haha.
The first thing I noticed on the first bite was how tender the texture was. The sweet and salty seasoning had soaked well into the meat, but it wasn't overly strong, so I kept reaching for more lol.

Grilling it over charcoal meant that behind the sweet seasoning came a subtle smoky flavor too, which I liked. It's tasty on its own, but it really goes well with rice haha.

Hanwoo gukbap, the beef rice soup finish
I ordered hanwoo gukbap along with the meat. It comes out in a stone pot at a rolling boil, and the visual alone looked quite rich lol.
The broth is red, so I thought it would be pretty spicy, but it actually turned out to be spicy-savory with a heavy, deep beef stock flavor. Eating a spoonful of the warm soup between bites of meat cleared the palate nicely, and the combination worked well haha. I thought it might even be worth coming back just for the hanwoo gukbap alone at lunch.
Is Wonangmyeongga worth a visit in Dunsan-dong?
Wonangmyeongga Dunsan City Hall Branch is a good match if you care about meat quality but also want somewhere comfortable enough for a family meal or a work dinner. This time I had the Wonang seasoned galbi, and the combination of sweet seasoning, tender meat, and charcoal smokiness was pretty satisfying haha. Ordering the hanwoo gukbap alongside it was a good pairing too, since it let me finish off the meat with a hearty bowl of soup lol.
