Euljiro-ipgu katsu restaurant: 5pm cheese katsu set, Hunta Euljiro
In short
Hunta Euljiro is a black pork cutlet restaurant on the first floor of the Fastfive building near Euljiro-ipgu Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Arriving on a weekday at 5pm, right as break time ended, meant no wait at Hunta Euljiro for the Hunta kimchi jjigae set with cheese katsu at 14,000 won and the loin tare katsudon at 16,000 won. The rich kimchi jjigae, made with both tuna and pork, went well with the crisp cheese katsu, making Hunta Euljiro an easy pick for an Euljiro lunch or a solo meal.

Why Hunta Euljiro for an Euljiro lunch?
Setting up a lunch meeting in Euljiro is always a little stressful, right? What to eat?

It's such an office-worker-heavy neighborhood that there's no shortage of restaurants, but when lunchtime actually rolls around, you either hit a wait or can't decide on a menu, so you end up searching forever... T_T

This time I went to Hunta Euljiro, a black pork katsu specialist located inside Fastfive — a building famous for its restaurants — built around the life's work of a katsu-obsessed owner. They have everything from kimchi jjigae sets to katsudon, so it's great for a filling meal!

Is there a wait at Hunta Euljiro at 5pm?
On weekdays during lunch there might be a wait, but we came right after break time ended, around 5pm on a weekday, and got seated with no wait at all! Even though break time had just ended, there were still about three tables of customers.

The interior is clean and the seating is divided into solo seats, 2-tops, and 4-tops! Most of the customers seemed to be dining alone.
Hunta Euljiro menu and prices

You order right at your table using the tablet installed there~ You can order and pay all in one spot, which makes this Euljiro pork cutlet restaurant convenient during a busy lunch hour!

There's even a guide on the table for how to eat it deliciously, worth checking out!

Loin tare katsudon, 16,000 won
Loin tare katsudon, 16,000 won. A katsudon (pork cutlet rice bowl) with loin katsu on rice, brought together with tare sauce and egg!

The combination of katsu, rice, and sweet-savory tare sauce makes this a bowl you can finish in no time!! The rice was already seasoned with the tare sauce, so it wasn't too salty or lacking sauce — the seasoning was just right!
They sprinkle a bit of pepper on top of the loin katsu.

Hunta kimchi jjigae set with cheese katsu, 14,000 won
Hunta kimchi jjigae (spicy kimchi stew) set with cheese katsu, 14,000 won. This set lets you have hot kimchi jjigae alongside katsu, and it's Hunta's popular menu item near Euljiro-ipgu Station! At 14,000 won in Euljiro, this is generous enough that it'll cross your mind at lunchtime again!!
The kimchi jjigae has both tuna and pork in it, so there's no need to agonize over tuna kimchi jjigae versus pork belly kimchi jjigae — it's the neutral kimchi jjigae haha.

There's plenty of meat in it and the broth is rich!!! I'd seen a lot of reviews saying the kimchi jjigae broth tastes genuinely rich, like it's been simmered a long time — and it really was thick and delicious!

The salad is fresh and good for cleansing your palate too. With the kimchi jjigae set, you can choose your pork cutlet from loin, fillet, or cheese — I went with the cheese katsu~
The cheese katsu is thick and generously sized! Taking a bite of the cheese katsu after some hot broth — the savory cheese flavor combined with the crispy pork cutlet texture is seriously addictive haha.

Pork cutlet with pa kimchi (scallion kimchi)
It's tasty dipped in salt, or eaten with pork cutlet sauce or scallion kimchi! Scallion kimchi came with the katsudon, so I put some on top, and pork cutlet with scallion kimchi turned out to be a surprisingly great combo?!

Good for solo dining or sharing between two
If you're torn between pork cutlet and a hot bowl of soup, there are plenty of options here! Besides the kimchi jjigae set and tare katsudon, there's a wide range of menu items — loin katsu, fillet katsu, premium loin katsu, cheese katsu, and more!

It's good for a quick solo meal, and also good for coming with coworkers or a partner and ordering one of each to share!

It's located between Euljiro-ipgu Station and Jonggak Station, so it's convenient for nearby office workers to stop by for lunch~ It's also fairly close to Cheonggyecheon, so you can take a short walk before or after your meal. Office workers in Euljiro, give Hunta Euljiro a try!
