Milyang Dol Jjamppong, famous as a go-to spot near Milyang City Hall and Yeongnamnu!! I'm normally a jjamppong lover, so when I heard the jjamppong comes out sizzling on a hot stone plate, I had to check it out myself :) Jjamppong served on a hot stone plate — I was curious so I went to see for myself :)!

There's room for about 3–4 cars right in front of the restaurant, and you can also park for free at the empty lot next door :) Just enter '1566-2 Naei-dong, Milyang-si, Gyeongsangnam-do' into your navigation!

Menu prices and how to order the set

Here's the menu at Milyang Dol Jjamppong :) Ordering donttang or chitang as a set is about 1,000–2,000 won cheaper than ordering them separately! If you're having donttang or chitang as a side, I recommend going with the set menu!!

Mix it well with the mung bean sprouts~ They say stone-plate jjamppong changes flavor three times as you go through the meal!!

• The rich soupy jjamppong flavor from the chicken broth
• The stir-fried jjamppong flavor mingling with crunchy mung bean sprouts
• The yakiudon flavor as the seasoning soaks into the noodles

After hearing the explanation and trying it myself, I could definitely tell the flavor shifted a little at each stage!! Anyone who loves yakiudon or jjamppong is going to love this taste :)

Rice comes free with the meal

One of the great things here is that rice is free!! After finishing the noodles, mixing the leftover sauce with rice is delicious too :) You can eat a really filling meal, so if you love rice mixed in sauce, make sure you get some!

By the time you're almost done with the noodles, you'll spot crispy rice underneath! Scraping up every last bit of the crispy rice is so good — it's soaked in sauce, seriously ㅠㅠ Make sure to eat the crispy rice at the end too.

What are donttang and chitang?

Milyang Dol Jjamppong's donttang and chitang are pork cutlet sweet-and-sour and chicken sweet-and-sour. The meat inside was generous and crispy, and it paired really well with the jjamppong :) It comes with sweet-and-sour sauce drizzled on top as standard, plus pork cutlet sauce and seasoned chicken sauce served separately on the side, so you can eat it however you like — good stuff!

Self-serve bar and the yogurt drink after the meal

There's a self-serve bar set up around the restaurant, so if you run low on sauce or side dishes you can comfortably grab more without feeling awkward about it.

After the meal, yogurt and candy are also set out, so it was nice to grab one each to finish off :)

Is Milyang Dol Jjamppong good with kids?

From a baby chair to a microwave dedicated to baby food and even a sterilizer for kids' tableware, everything's set up, so it seems like a great place to visit with children too. It felt well-equipped with everything parents need when eating out with kids, so parents could probably relax and enjoy the meal too :)

Weekday evening vs. weekend: how long is the wait?

When I visited on a weekday evening, I got seated right away with no wait, but passing by on the weekend I saw quite a long line..! If you're planning a weekend visit, keep the wait in mind :)

Ate until I was full, then let the yogurt help with digestion!! haha

Since the jjamppong keeps sizzling on the stone plate, I could eat it hot all the way to the end, and with donttang, chitang, and rice too, I left completely stuffed haha. If you're looking for a good jjamppong spot near Milyang City Hall or Yeongnamnu, give Milyang Dol Jjamppong a try :)
