Unlimited ssam greens at Yongin duck restaurant Seonbong Sandeomi Ori

In short

Seonbong Sandeomi Ori is a duck bulgogi restaurant on Seongsan-ro in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi. On a meal out with her mom, the writer ordered two servings of soy sauce mountain-piled duck bulgogi (18,000 won per person), added a mini duck soup (+5,000 won) and finished with fried rice, while the self-serve ssam (wrapping greens) bar was unlimited. The tender duck with no gamey smell, paired with the house perilla seed sauce, was the most memorable part of Seonbong Sandeomi Ori.

Seonbong Sandeomi Ori is the Yongin spot to hit when you're craving duck

Signature mountain-piled duck bulgogi at Seonbong Sandeomi Ori

I'm View, eating and reviewing as always. I hadn't taken my mom out in a while, so we wanted a good meal that would also do us some good, and while looking for a Yongin duck restaurant we landed on 'Seonbong Sandeomi Ori.' Since it was a rare mom-daughter date, I picked carefully — not just for the food but for parking and the vibe of the place too. We both left 200% satisfied!

Seonbong Sandeomi Ori is located in the Cheoin-gu area of Yongin. Honestly, parking is always the thing I worry about most when visiting a restaurant.

Spacious dedicated parking lot in front of the restaurant

This place has a spacious dedicated lot right in front of the store, so parking was a breeze.

Inside Seonbong Sandeomi Ori: atmosphere and group seating

Restaurant interior with generously spaced tables

Walking in, the tables were spaced generously apart and the whole place felt clean and comfortable. There's group seating too, so it's a great pick for gatherings or family meals.

Menu and prices: ordering the soy sauce mountain-piled duck bulgogi

Here's Seonbong Sandeomi Ori's menu board. The best-seller is the duck bulgogi ssambap (wrapped rice), but they also have a range of other dishes like duck shabu-shabu, and lunch specials like duck soup and kalguksu (knife-cut noodles).

Kiosk for ordering placed at the table

Every table has its own kiosk, so ordering was easy. We ordered the mountain-piled duck bulgogi, ₩18,000, for two servings. There are two flavors, soy sauce and spicy — we went with soy sauce!

Unlimited self-serve ssam vegetable corner

Unlimited self-serve ssam greens and the side dishes

The biggest draw of this place was definitely the self-serve corner with unlimited fresh ssam vegetables! The lettuce and perilla leaves were kept crisp and green, which really hit the spot for my mom and me since we both love wrapping our food, haha.

After ordering, the table filled up with basic side dishes — ssam vegetables and sauce, plus kimchi, pickled onion, and chickpea salad as banchan.

There's a self-serve bar in the middle of the restaurant, so you can easily grab more of anything you run low on.

Even the water wasn't just plain water — it was a tea steeped from buckwheat and Jerusalem artichoke, nutty and easy to drink.

How does the mountain-piled duck bulgogi taste? Tender, with no gamey smell

True to its name, the duck bulgogi came piled sky-high on the plate! Thinly sliced fresh duck meat along with chives, enoki mushrooms, and other vegetables are stacked in a mountain on a large grill pan and cooked right at the table.

As it sizzled away, the savory juices from the vegetables and duck meat mingled together and made my mouth water!

Soy sauce duck bulgogi sizzling on the grill

I tried a well-cooked piece of duck right away — since it's sliced thin, the texture wasn't tough at all, just tender and soft.

And there was zero trace of that distinctive duck smell, so I really enjoyed it. The mild sweet-and-salty soy sauce seasoning soaked all the way into the meat, so it was delicious even eaten plain.

The house perilla seed sauce that makes the meal

But the real 'kick' of this place was the house-made perilla seed sauce. Dipping the tender duck meat deep into that nutty, umami-rich sauce was genuinely delicious, hahaha.

Piled onto fresh lettuce and perilla leaves with garlic and more perilla sauce, it made an absolutely perfect combo — the clean flavor of the duck paired so well with the crunch of the ssam vegetables, haha.

Nutty mini duck soup (+5,000 won)

Stone pot of the mini duck soup add-on

After eating the meat, I got curious about the broth too, so I added a mini duck soup (+₩5,000). It came out bubbling in a stone pot, loaded with ground perilla seeds — the broth was rich and nutty, just excellent!

Deep, rich broth with that extra perilla flavor warmed us right up — total rice-thief soup, haha.

Save some meat for the fried rice finish

We were already full, but... you can't skip the classic Korean fried rice finish! To get the fried rice, you need to leave a bit of meat behind.

We finished off with the delicious fried rice the owner made for us, nice and full.

Final table spread at Seonbong Sandeomi Ori

Clean, hearty duck bulgogi with zero gamey smell, unlimited fresh ssam vegetables, and the charm of that umami-boosting perilla sauce on top — it was a satisfying meal to share with my mom! If you're looking for a Yongin duck restaurant to take your parents to, give Seonbong Sandeomi Ori a try :)
