This time I visited Pasta Go Magok Naru, which sits on the 2nd floor of a commercial building, and it caught my eye because it has a solo set where you can choose one pasta plus a side and a drink.

Pasta Go Magok Naru Branch is located on the 2nd floor of a commercial building at 6 Magokjungang 5-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Along with the other shops on the same floor, a red Pastago sign made it easy to spot the store.

Walking up to the storefront, the wood frame and white entrance door catch your eye first. The same wood-and-white tones continue inside, giving the whole space a clean, tidy feel.

Besides regular tables, there were also bench-style and booth-style seats. It looked like a solid setup for eating pasta casually, whether alone or with one other person.

You order at a kiosk. That was convenient too — for something like the solo set, where you need to choose the pasta and side separately, you can take your time picking while looking at the screen.

Off to one side there was also a separate station with cups, plates, and a water dispenser all set up.

The solo set I ordered was 14,625 won, discounted 25% from the regular 19,500 won. It's made up of 1 pasta + 1 side + 1 drink.

I chose Special Black for the pasta. The black squid-ink noodles come with shrimp, squid, and garlic, topped with herbs.

At first, your eyes naturally go to the pitch-black visual. But once I tasted it, the real kick of this dish for me was the nuttiness of the squid-ink noodles.

Shrimp and squid were mixed in too, so it wasn't just noodles the whole way through, and with the garlic added, the savoriness felt thick and layered.

Eating the noodles together with the shrimp made the character of Special Black even clearer. It's a menu worth picking when you're craving something a bit different from your usual cream or tomato pasta.

Gorgonzola mini pizza, served with honey on the side

For the solo set side, I chose the gorgonzola mini pizza. Size-wise, it looked about as big as a man's palm — mini-sized. Not too large to eat alongside a pasta by yourself, just right for a side.

On top of the golden-baked cheese were sliced almonds and herbs.

Drizzling plenty of honey over it really brought out the nutty-cheese-and-sweet-honey combo I love. If Special Black was on the nutty, savory side, alternating bites with the sweet gorgonzola pizza worked really well in between.

Was the 3,600 won green salad worth adding?

I also added the green salad separately for 3,600 won. It had lettuce, red cabbage, and tomato, along with almonds and grated cheese on top.

The set is already complete with just the pasta and mini pizza, but adding the salad made it fun to switch between dishes at the table.

When eating alone, instead of ordering one big menu item, I found it works well to set pasta + mini pizza + drink as the base and add only what you need on top.
