Gangneung ocean-view bakery café with a child: Baegya Coffee
In short
Baegya Coffee is a large bakery café directly in front of Sageunjin Beach in Gangneung. I had bread, including pizza bread, and coffee with my child while looking out at the sea; the food and clean space were satisfying, though the outdoor area is a no-kids zone and some bread was gone late in the afternoon.

Baegya Coffee (백야커피) is a café in front of Sageunjin Beach in Gangneung that my family and I have visited from time to time since my child was little. This time, too, I sat somewhere with a clear sea view and enjoyed bread and coffee with my child.

How do you get from the parking lot to the café?
There is dedicated parking directly in front of the café and behind the building. I usually use the rear parking lot, as it connects to the rear entrance on the second floor.
The building is a large space extending from the first floor to the fourth-floor rooftop. The outdoor area is a no-kids zone, so families visiting with children need to keep the available areas in mind.

The exterior had the clean feel of a new building, and there was also a photo spot on the rooftop.

What bread did I choose, and was any left in the late afternoon?
I ordered on the first floor. You can check the menu on the board at the counter or on the large monitor beside it.

Many kinds of bread were displayed opposite the counter. There was a wide selection, so I looked around before choosing.

Perhaps because I visited late in the afternoon, some breads had already sold out. There were still plenty of kinds left, though, and I had to think about what to eat.

My child was interested in the pizza bread, so I chose one as well.

After finishing your drinks, you can use the return counter on the first floor. There are several tables on that floor, but I have usually sat on the second or third floor.

What are the second and third floors like for sea views?
The second floor is a clean space with plants throughout. Its stepped layout stood out to me.

The sea stretches out broadly from the second floor. It was a nice place to sit and spend time looking at Sageunjin Beach.

It was also convenient that each floor had separate restrooms for men and women. The restrooms were clean when I used them, and high chairs are available, so I have visited from time to time since my child was little.

The third floor felt slightly more subdued in its interior design than the second floor.

The tables were spaced widely apart, making it good for talking with the person I came with.

How was it to carry and eat the order with a child?
I took the order I received on the first floor upstairs. There is an internal lift and a table where you can set drinks down, which made getting around easier.

I sat somewhere with a clear sea view and had tea time with my child. The café was clean, so I did not feel uncomfortable while there, and I was satisfied with the bakery items and coffee.

Jannabi songs were playing that day, so I ate dessert while listening to the music. I was so focused on eating that I did not take any photos partway through.

Can you take a walk nearby after coffee?
It is near Gyeongpodae, with a walking path across the road, so it was nice to walk after tea time. I was reluctant to head straight home, so I walked a little along an area made into a cosmos flower walking path.
