I went to Siseon Gyodae Branch, which someone recommended as a great round-two spot near Gyodae Station haha. It's not really a first-stop kind of place, more for a light second round, and apparently a lot of groups end up here too! Even on a weekday it was packed with customers — okay, let's get into today's review :))

Since it was our second round, we wanted something light, so we ordered the yukhoe & chadol sashimi — but of course, we got tipsy and ended up ordering the calorie-bomb American cheese sticks anyway. Funny thing, every menu price ends in 900 won.

Siseon Gyodae Branch has open hall seating as well as booth seats! We picked a booth haha. It was packed with customers, so we chose the booth for easier conversation!! The snacks aren't heavy and the prices aren't scary, which makes it so easy to swing by for a simple second round haha.
The complimentary snack is a chicken-leg-shaped cracker lol. I genuinely love these crackers, and whenever they come out as the free snack I always refill at least once 😘 Might just be time to buy a giant bulk bag for home,, lol.
As soon as we ordered the yukhoe and chadol sashimi, it came out right away!! For bar food, the quality's pretty good, right? The plate is seriously packed full. There's a reason everyone comes looking for this bar near Gyodae Station.

Yukhoe & chadol sashimi, 28,900 won: how we ate it
The yukhoe & chadol sashimi at Siseon Gyodae Branch is genuinely generous in both quality and portion!! First, you pop the egg yolk sitting on top of the yukhoe and mix it in haha. The yolk looked really fresh too — it took a few pokes with the chopsticks before it finally burst, it was that firm.
They also gave us vinegared sushi rice so we could eat it sushi-style, which was great since we could eat it however we liked~!
Once we got a bit tipsy, I started craving carbs lol. So we wrapped the yukhoe with rice in seaweed and ate it that way. The seaweed wasn't the seasoned kind, so it did a great job of holding all the ingredients together.
Ah~~ We were clearly full, but it just kept going down smoothly,, We had chopsticks right there but ended up eating with our hands the whole time haha;;
Honestly I didn't expect much from the chadol sashimi, but it turned out to be top-tier quality for a bar. I guess that's exactly why it's known as a Gyodae Station izakaya worth visiting 👍

American cheese sticks, 10,900 won: worth the hype?
We're all slaves to calories,, tipsy enough that curiosity finally won and we ordered the American cheese sticks lol. It's the trendy thing right now, I kept seeing it at bar after bar, so I finally got to try it!
Two brick-sized blocks of cheese stick came out, along with cheddar cheese sauce for dipping!! I was foolishly trying to cut it up to make it easier to eat,, that's not the move, you're supposed to stretch it!! lol. Anyway, trend successfully kept up with today,,? So, thanks for the meal today.
Even if you're full, you have to try the American cheese sticks lol. I never got to try this at the famous spots because I didn't want to wait in line, so I was glad I could finally have it at Siseon near Gyodae Station. I mean, it's probably similar everywhere haha. Eating it right as it came out, the cheese stretched forever, which made it fun to eat.
