Gyodae Station izakaya in Seoul with shrimp cheese fondue: Siseon

Among the izakayas near Gyodae Station, I visited Siseon, a great-value bar with tons of menu options that are perfect even when you're already full — ideal for a second round! The second-round menu was so tasty and such good value that I really wanted to introduce it to you all haha

Seating and atmosphere at Siseon Gyodae Branch

Siseon Gyodae Branch is a brand-new izakaya that opened last December, with rooms (2–24 people) and group seating (48 people) — a spacious venue that can host up to 200 people total!

I visited with one other person, and even though we weren't in a room, the dividers were set up so well that it still felt private. Once you're on your second round, drinks tend to make it hard to hear the other person, but at Siseon Gyodae Branch, I didn't have to worry about that at all haha

What two people ordered at Siseon Gyodae Branch, and the prices

The three items the two of us ordered were as follows.

Vita sherbet ₩8,900 / Grilled pollock roe ₩13,900 / Shrimp cheese fondue ₩18,900 — ₩41,700

Vita sherbet, ₩8,900

First up, the vita sherbet for ₩8,900! I've seen a lot of yogurt or pineapple sherbets before, but this was my first time seeing a vita sherbet, so I ordered it out of curiosity. It really tasted like a frozen Vita500 (a Korean vitamin drink), refreshing and great for cleansing the palate — a fantastic choice, I thought.

Shrimp cheese fondue, ₩18,900

Next, the shrimp cheese fondue for ₩18,900 came out cutely on a takoyaki pan. Once the cheese bubbles away, you scoop it up to eat!

The combination of the refreshing vita sherbet with the shrimp cheese fondue's richness kept us going back for more — rich, then refreshing, on repeat.

Grilled pollock roe, ₩13,900

Since we still felt a bit peckish, we ordered one more item — the grilled pollock roe for ₩13,900. It came with crackers, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and grilled pollock roe. It was nice being able to build it up like a canapé.

Why Siseon Gyodae Branch suits a second round near Gyodae Station

Since most of the main dishes are around ₩10,000-something and the portions are reasonable, I really want to recommend Siseon as a great-value spot if you're looking for a second-round bar near Gyodae Station! In particular, if you love cheese and shrimp, you absolutely must try the shrimp cheese fondue, which comes with a whole shrimp on top, haha

Reasonable prices, a wide variety of menu items, and everything we tried was delicious — Siseon naturally makes you want to come back and try something else next time!

With 10 private rooms that can fit around 4–6 people and no separate room charge, I'd also highly recommend this place as a second-round bar for group outings.

Siseon Gyodae Branch at a glance

• It opened around December 2025, so the interior is clean and the atmosphere is great

• If you usually like cheese and shrimp, I strongly recommend the cheese shrimp fondue!

Gyodae Station feels like it has both plenty and not quite enough places for a second round — it feels more like a neighborhood of meal-and-drink spots... I was really happy to discover an izakaya that works both for light snacks and for a good chat with friends, haha. I've seen Siseon as a chain in other areas too, but the Gyodae branch in particular seemed to have an especially spacious and clean hall.
