Pohang Italian restaurant with sea views: Plan A Restaurant
In short
Plan A Restaurant is an Italian restaurant on the fourth floor opposite Songdo Beach in Pohang, Gyeongbuk. I shared beef pasta, carbonara, and basil risotto with my family and three children; the cream beef spaghetti was ample for a child. The sea view was lovely, but our Sunday lunch took over 30 minutes to arrive.

While on a family outing in Pohang, I had lunch at Plan A Restaurant (플랜에이레스토랑) opposite Songdo Beach. We could look out at the sea while sharing pasta and risotto with our three children.

Where is it near Songdo Beach, and where can you park?
The address is 4F, 1189 Huimang-daero, Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. It is directly opposite Songdo Beach, and there are several public parking lots behind the restaurant. The original post advised parking there for free before visiting.

The entrance is on the fourth floor, reached by elevator. At the time of my visit, the posted hours were 11:45 AM to 9 PM, with a break time from 3 PM to 5 PM.

What did we choose for a family lunch?
When I entered, I first noticed the space decorated with various small objects. The menu included steak, pasta, rice dishes, salads, and sides.

We arrived just after 1 PM on Sunday and ordered a variety of pasta and risotto. I mainly chose beef and cream dishes that the children like.

At the time of my visit, there was also a notice saying that guests who visited after making a Naver reservation and left a photo review could receive one side dish.

How were the beef pasta and carbonara for the children?
The beef tomato spaghetti and beef cream spaghetti were ₩16,000 each. Since the children like dishes with beef, I ordered one tomato-based and one cream-based pasta.

The beef cream pasta my second child chose was quite a large portion for a young child to finish alone. At the time of my visit, guests aged 10 and over had to order one menu item each, and my second and third children shared one plate.

My eldest chose the ₩15,000 carbonara. They usually like cream pasta with bacon, and that day they ate the whole plate alone and said it was delicious.

The beef pasta had plenty of meat, so it also felt a little like ragù. I enjoyed it with the cheese on top.

What did the mushroom basil pesto cream risotto taste like?
The mushroom basil pesto cream risotto was ₩15,000. The grains of rice were full of sauce, making it moist and soft.

Since getting to know the taste of basil, I have occasionally eaten basil risotto or spaghetti. I enjoyed the risotto I chose that day as well.

How were the sea view and the Sunday lunch wait?
I was able to eat while looking out at the Songdo seafront with my three children. Looking at the sea made the pasta and risotto taste even better.

However, the wait for the food was disappointing. There was no wait to enter when we visited around 1 PM on Sunday, but our order was nearly the last to go in, and it took over 30 minutes for the food to arrive. We were very hungry while waiting, and we finished everything once it came.
