Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch is on the 3rd floor of Janggok Edu Tower. Even from a distance you can see the big Pyeonbaek Hoegwan sign covering the whole floor. Since the entire floor is the restaurant, it wasn't hard to find even on my first visit!

Going up to the 3rd floor, the interior was way bigger than I expected! And since it's been remodeled, it's super clean too! There's plenty of group seating, so it would be great for a family meal or dining with a big group.

What I liked most was the big windows! The large windows overlook the outside, which made the interior feel even more spacious and open. If you're looking for a Janggok-dong restaurant with a roomy space, I think you'd love this too.

What is on the salad bar at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan?

Overview of the salad bar at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch

After ordering, I checked out the salad bar right away. There was so much food?! From japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) to takoyaki, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), and chicken — dishes that both adults and kids would love! Really packed with options!

On the other side were the shabu-shabu ingredients. Even the meat is unlimited refill... ❤️ There were so many kinds of vegetables too, and everything looked really fresh, which I loved!

I grabbed a little bit of everything first, and honestly the salad bar food alone was already pretty filling haha.

While I was browsing the salad bar and filling my plate, they set up the cypress steamer for us.

While the cypress-steamed pork was cooking, I started with the salad bar food. The chicken was delicious, the tteokbokki was delicious, everything was delicious! Waiting for the cypress-steamed pork wasn't boring at all haha. And while I was happily eating, the moment came to open the lid!

Meat and bean sprouts inside the opened cypress steamer

When I opened the lid, it was packed with meat, bean sprouts, and vegetables. Steam rising off it — the visual was insane. Eating the meat together with the bean sprouts, the crunchy sprouts and tender meat went together so well, it was really delicious.

Shabu-shabu with two broths to choose from

After enjoying the cypress-steamed pork, I got into shabu-shabu properly.

Shabu-shabu tray loaded with vegetables and meat

You just bring back a shabu-shabu tray piled with as much fresh vegetables and meat as you want. Picking out the ingredients you feel like and dropping them into the bubbling broth — that's exactly the taste of shabu-shabu!

And here's one more thing I loved! There are two kinds of broth, so you can mix it up depending on your mood! Rather than eating the same broth the whole time, splitting between two flavors meant I never got tired of it, right to the end!

Spring rolls are part of the deal too 😋

Packing fresh vegetables into a spring roll wrapper, dipping it in peanut sauce, and popping it in one bite haha — it was so good I couldn't stop eating haha.

Is the Siheung Janggok-dong buffet worth 17,900 won?

Table at Pyeonbaek Hoegwan near the end of the meal

Between the cypress-steamed pork, shabu-shabu, spring rolls, and salad bar, I ate a really wide variety of food. Rather than just eating meat the whole time, I could pair it with bean sprouts and all kinds of vegetables, and pick different dishes off the salad bar too — I loved that.

Most of all, everyone was happier picking from several dishes than sticking to just one menu item. If you're looking for a Siheung restaurant where you can enjoy both cypress-steamed pork and shabu-shabu together, Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch is a great choice!

It seems especially good for family meals or dining with a group where everyone has different tastes — everyone can pick exactly what they want. 💚 Wrapped up the meal feeling pleasantly full.
