Jeonju hair salon gray coverage dye in natural brown 8: Auruum Hair
In short
Auruum Hair Jeonju Innovation Branch is a first-floor hair salon in Jeonju's Innovation City, in the alley behind the Lotteria. Asking for a natural brown to hide white hairs, the stylist said regular color would not cover them fully and recommended gray-coverage dye in shade 8, which took about 1 hour 10 minutes. Scalp protectant, skin protectant and intensive hair care come as standard, and Auruum Hair also cleaned the hairline with dye remover, leaving a naturally one-tone-brighter brown.

Looking at photos of myself taken in the sunlight lately, I got tired of my plain black hair and kept noticing the gray coming in, so before a fall trip I wanted a natural brown dye job. I went with Auruum Hair Jeonju Innovation Branch — a spacious salon with a first-visit discount event that made it easy to choose. Here's my dye record!

Inside Auruum Hair: atmosphere, price list and booking

I made a reservation ahead of time through Naver with the manager. A price list is posted at the entrance. If regular dye feels too harsh, there's also Elloi, a natural dye made from naturally derived ingredients that's good for pregnant women or people with sensitive skin!!

You can get a discounted price if you pay with a membership.

Overall the salon was very spacious and clean, so it was comfortable and pleasant to get the treatment done~
Why the consultation led to gray coverage dye instead of regular color

My hair at the time needed a trim since my bangs had gotten too long, some gray was starting to show, and since I hadn't dyed in a while it was very black. The gray keeps popping up and it bums me out ㅜㅜ It had been a while, so I wanted to switch to a natural brown.
The stylist gave a detailed consultation about my current hair condition and what I was worried about. When I said I wanted a natural brown and asked if the grays could be covered, she explained that regular dye wouldn't fully cover gray hair, and that if it really bothers me, gray-coverage dye would be better — which made the decision easy.

I usually pick a darker shade because my hair always comes out one shade lighter than what I chose, but she explained that gray-coverage dye doesn't come out as light as regular dye, so she recommended going one shade lighter. That's how I landed on shade 8.
How the gray coverage dye was done and how long it took
The gray-coverage dye in shade 8 at Auruum Hair Jeonju Innovation Branch took about 1 hour 10 minutes. It went in order from protective prep before dyeing, to application, shampoo, and blow-drying.

A sticker was placed on my forehead before the treatment.

Ear covers were put on so the dye wouldn't touch my ears.

Scalp protectant was applied before dyeing. When I asked if this was always applied when dyeing, she explained that scalp protectant, skin protectant, and intensive hair care are always included whenever you get a dye job. It was satisfying that this kind of care comes included by default~

The dye application began.

She applied it very thoroughly.

While waiting, they brought me cold coffee and a snack, so I ate and rested a bit.

After 30 minutes passed, I moved to the shampoo room to wash my hair.
Cleaning the hairline with dye remover in the shampoo room

Dye remover. When you dye your hair a dark color, dye can subtly seep into or stain the hairline border areas — the forehead, in front of the ears, the nape of the neck — and having that residue left behind always bothers me. During the shampoo, the leftover dye along the hairline was thoroughly wiped away with dye remover, so my forehead line was super clean with no staining or residue. She finished up with a treatment too~

She blow-dried and styled my hair.

The finished natural brown shade 8: how it turned out
Naturally done! Overall it brightened up naturally by one shade and no gray was visible, which I loved. It had been a while since I'd dyed my hair, and it was such a refreshing change!
The consultation was thorough and detailed, and the dye job itself was done carefully, so I left feeling well taken care of. It was a nice autumn refresh, and if you're looking for a hair salon in Jeonju's Innovation City, I'd recommend Auruum Hair Jeonju Innovation Branch.
