Layered perm and root perm for volume at CHOP Hair, a Jamsil hair

A satisfaction review after getting the women's layered perm that's apparently trending at Jamsil-saenae hair salons these days, done at CHOP Hair Jamsil branch, because I wanted natural curls.

I'm about to return to work, and Dodam is getting used to daycare, so while she's there I wanted to change up my hair too. Curls don't really suit me, so I usually kept it straight or with just a tiny bit of curl at the ends — but that meant my hair had zero volume and just hung there limp, so I finally decided this wasn't going to cut it and went in. I showed a few reference styles I wanted, and they said a layered perm would work, so here's my review after getting the full cut-to-perm treatment.

How to find CHOP Hair Jamsil from Jamsil-saenae Station

CHOP Hair Jamsil branch is on the 3rd floor of a building near Jamsil-saenae Station Exit 4. It's very close to the station, so it was easy to find.

What the salon interior and shampoo room are like

All the products looked so good I wanted to buy them.. I heard shampoo really matters! There wasn't just shampoo and conditioner but all kinds of hair care products, so it was fun just browsing haha.

BEFORE: damaged, limp hair with no volume

My hair style. The ends were so damaged, ugh. I did get a perm last year but it had all fallen out, leaving it limp and hanging. I wanted to just cut off the ends lol.

How the women's layered perm and root perm were done

Before really getting started, CHOP Hair Jamsil branch shampooed my hair first.

The shampoo room was clean and the lighting was comfortable too, so I enjoyed relaxing during the shampoo.

My before hair. Those bangs weren't cut by me — my baby hairs just grew out that way lol. Postpartum hair loss is really scary, ugh. Still glad it grew back.

They gave me coffee during the treatment. The iced americano was really good haha.

They said my roots looked really flat so they gave me a root perm too. Seriously, do the root perm — twice, three times even. Once this took, my hair looked so much thicker, loved it.

And then they diligently rolled it all up.

They gave me waffles too. This place is a waffle spot!! I thought it'd just be a so-so waffle but it was genuinely delicious haha. Crispy and perfectly cooked. There was syrup underneath too, and dipping it in that while sipping the iced americano was seriously wonderful 💛

After the treatment. Exactly the style I wanted!! They cut off the damaged ends nicely so my hair felt way more polished, and overall the volume came back.

Especially the root volume came back to life!! My hair looks so much thicker, ugh, I'm moved. The curls were just the right amount too — not too much, nice and natural.

Is CHOP Hair Jamsil worth a visit?

This is the Jamsil-saenae hair salon I visited for a refresh before returning to work and to fix my damaged, limp hair — CHOP Hair Jamsil branch, where I got the women's layered perm. After cutting off the damaged ends and adding thick, natural curls, plus a root perm that brought back root volume, my hair looks so much thicker and more alive now, love it. The deputy director did such a great job that I left feeling comfortable and satisfied. Now I just need to actually take care of my hair, ugh!!
