Myeongdong spa: 40-minute low-frequency head-and-neck care at Beautae

Lately I've been worried because the wedding ceremony isn't far off and my neck, shoulders, and trapezius line have felt kind of lumpy and uneven,,,🥺 Then I heard there's a place in Myeongdong good for skin care and neck/shoulder/upper-body care, so I went 〰️〰️ I originally meant to get a different contouring treatment but ended up getting head-and-neck care instead — let me tell you about Beautae Esthetic in Myeongdong :)

Where is Beautae Esthetic and how do you book?

Beautae Esthetic is at 6F, Room 604, Hyoryeong Building, 32 Mugyo-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The location is within walking distance of Gwanghwamun, City Hall, and Jongno stations, so accessibility was great~~ They also offer 50% support on parking fees, so keep that in mind!!

You can book through Naver Reservation, and they were running a promotion where your first treatment is free with your first membership purchase~ I'd recommend booking a time slot before you go +__+

What does the consultation cover — skin condition and home care

After I gave my name for the reservation, they brought me water and what I guess was a consultation log 🤭 They went through my usual skin condition, concerns, cleansing habits, home care routine, and so on very thoroughly!!

Since my wedding isn't far off, my concerns were internal dryness, small bumpy breakouts, and my upper body, and they explained things carefully during a thorough consultation~~ Beautae Esthetic is a Myeongdong esthetic salon where you can get contouring, skin care, upper-body care, and more — and the treatment I got this time was head-and-neck care✨

I saw that some people combine contouring with head-and-neck care, but lately my neck and shoulders have just been constantly stiff ㅠㅠ There happened to be a head-and-neck care option that takes care of both the neck and scalp together, so I chose that~~

Changing room and treatment room at Beautae Esthetic

You store your belongings in a locker and put on an individually packaged gown like a top, and there's a separate storage box for valuables too!! There was also a mirror, dry shampoo, and comb, so it looked good for tidying up after finishing the whole treatment haha

The bed was set up like this, and since it was a weekday, there weren't many people so I got the treatment alone!

Head-and-neck care step 1: low-frequency on the neck, shoulders and trapezius

Beautae Esthetic's head-and-neck care started at the neck and shoulders. First, they applied a gel-like product and used a low-frequency machine to loosen up the neck and shoulder area‼️ It felt a bit unfamiliar with the low-frequency machine at first, but as it went on I could definitely feel the stimulation haha

They said first-timers sometimes feel a jolt and end up flopping around like a fish ㅋㅋㅋ and yeah, that was me too ^___^ Still, the knots felt like they were really releasing!! At some point a specific spot hurt quite a bit, probably because it was especially tense,,🥹 I really do think using a device or hands-on technique is the best way to work out knots like that ㅋㅋㅋ

After the scalp care: did the face line feel lifted?

And finally, they did scalp care! Using a device made just for the scalp, they thoroughly worked over my entire head 🤭 It felt like firm pressing on the scalp, a bit tingly, and as it went on I felt more and more relaxed~~

They took before-and-after photos to compare, and even more than the trapezius area, it was the face line that got pulled upward after the scalp treatment, which tightened up the face line too! True to the name

About 40 minutes: who is this head-and-neck care best for?

Beautae Esthetic's head-and-neck care took about 40 minutes? — not a super long treatment!! So it seemed manageable to fit in even on a busy day without much burden haha

I tend to get tension in my neck and shoulders often, so I thought it'd be nice to get this kind of care once in a while!
