24-hour Korean restaurant in Goyang for family gukbap: Pyeongando
In short
Pyeongando Restaurant Hwajeong Branch is a 24-hour Korean restaurant in Goyang, Gyeonggi, near Hwajeong Station. My family shared Korean beef head-meat gukbap, beef offal soup, and seolleongtang, with unlimited sundae available during set hours. Verdict: a filling choice when everyone wants a different comforting soup.

I was craving a steaming bowl of gukbap (rice soup) for weekend brunch, so I went to Pyeongando Restaurant Hwajeong Branch with my family! Since it is a 24-hour gukbap spot, you can drop by anytime without worrying about the hour, and the selection was seriously broad—from sundae-guk to Korean beef head-meat gukbap, seolleongtang, and beef offal soup.

This time, everyone in my family ordered something different, and every dish was delicious, so we were very happy! It is a great 24-hour lunch spot in Hwajeong-dong when you are in the mood for a hearty meal.

Pyeongando Restaurant Hwajeong Branch: location and parking
Pyeongando Restaurant is directly across from the main gate of Deogyang-gu Office.

It is about a three-minute walk from Hwajeong Station, so it is in a very convenient spot when looking for lunch near the station. If you drive, you can use the building’s mechanical parking garage, but please note that it only accommodates compact cars.

Hwajeong First Public Parking Lot is also nearby, just about a one-minute walk from the restaurant, which made parking much less stressful.

A spacious, tidy dining room
The interior at this popular Hwajeong-dong restaurant was more spacious and tidier than I expected.

We arrived a little early, around 10:30 on a weekend morning, but several groups were already eating. Being able to have a warm meal from late breakfast through lunch and dinner—and even late at night—seems like one of Pyeongando Restaurant’s biggest strengths! The staff were kind, too, so we had a pleasant meal.
When is unlimited sundae available?
Pyeongando Restaurant has a slightly special self-service bar, too.

It is unlimited sundae (Korean blood sausage)! Visit between 11:30 and 14:00 or 17:30 and 20:00, and you can enjoy as much sundae as you like from the self-service bar.

We visited around 10:30, so sadly we could not try it. But a bowl of gukbap with unlimited sundae sounds amazing, so I want to come back at the right time next time. Pyeongando Restaurant also boils its own head meat. It comes out at 11:00, 13:00, 18:00, and 21:00, so it would be good to plan your visit around those times.

A wide menu, from gukbap to shared dishes
True to its reputation as a gukbap restaurant in Hwajeong-dong, the menu is incredibly varied. There were plenty of warming soup dishes, including sundae-guk, boneless-meat gukbap, ppyeo-haejangguk (pork-bone hangover soup), yukgaejang, Korean beef head-meat gukbap, seolleongtang, and beef offal soup.

Alongside the gukbap, there are also dishes to enjoy with your meal, such as naengmyeon (cold noodles), gamjatang (pork-bone stew), and stir-fried sundae on a hot plate.

Three gukbap dishes my family shared
There were three of us, and everyone wanted something different, so we ordered a good variety. That meant we got to properly try the Korean beef head-meat gukbap, beef offal soup, and seolleongtang.

Korean beef head-meat gukbap
First up was the Korean beef head-meat gukbap that I really enjoyed! Tenderly boiled Korean beef head meat sat in a clear broth. One spoonful in, and the hot, rich broth felt like it was soothing me from the inside out~

Above all, the head meat was so good. It was soft and tender, with a savory flavor that came through the more I chewed. It also had thin wheat noodles inside, and eaten with rice, it was more filling than I expected! A hot bowl of gukbap for late weekend breakfast really made me feel properly full.

Beef offal soup
The beef offal soup got my appetite going from the moment I saw that red broth!

The broth was peppery and nicely spicy, and one spoonful made me feel instantly refreshed.

I especially liked that it came with more offal than expected, and there was barely any unpleasant odor. The chewy offal with that spicy broth made the rice disappear so easily. I recommend the beef offal soup if you enjoy spicy broth.

Premium seolleongtang
When visiting a gukbap restaurant with a child, it can be hard to decide what to order, so I was glad they had seolleongtang.

With thin noodles and meat in its milky-white broth, my child ate it really well.

My child eagerly fished out the noodles first, then ate the meat and rice too~ Since the flavor was not overpowering, it was a good menu choice for a family meal with children.

Large steamed dumplings
We ordered large steamed dumplings because gukbap alone felt a little incomplete! Having dumplings here and there alongside the hot gukbap made the meal feel even more generous.

A great place for families to choose different gukbap
This is not a gukbap restaurant that sells only sundae-guk. With options including Korean beef head-meat gukbap, beef offal soup, seolleongtang, and ppyeo-haejangguk, it was easy for each family member to pick something that suited their taste. Most of all, the unlimited sundae if you visit at the right time feels like a special Pyeongando Restaurant perk.

I recommend Pyeongando Restaurant to anyone looking for great gukbap in Hwajeong-dong or a filling lunch near Hwajeong Station.
