Sushi restaurant in Ilsan, Goyang with a kids' set: Hwangje Sushi

I went to Hwangje Sushi Ilsan Main Branch (황제초밥 일산본점), in the Western Dom M-City building in Ilsan, for a weekend lunch. Haha. The building is so big that the parking is well set up too. Parking was easy, which I absolutely loved~~

Parking is free if you park in the M-City commercial building's underground lot. Once you're in the underground lot, parking near the 'M-City Wedding Convention' entrance, on the exit side, is the closest. Go in through the GATE12 commercial entrance and walk straight, pass the wedding hall, take the elevator on the right, get off on the 1st floor, and the restaurant is on the main road to your left, on the Lake Park side.

The address is Unit 1117, Green Zone, 1F, Commercial Building, 195 Baengma-ro, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi-do (경기 고양시 일산동구 백마로 195 상가동 1층 그린존 1117호). Hours are 11:00–21:20, break time is 15:00–17:00, and last orders are at 14:20 and 20:40. Parking is free for up to 5 hours.

Coming over to the Ilsan Lake Park side really puts my mind at ease~~ The scenery is really, really lovely. Hwangje Sushi is right across from the Lake Park, so all that lush green comes into view at a glance. Full-window view!!!

The cozy interior is done in white and wood tones. There's a draft beer machine too — two premium draft beers, Yebisu and Sapporo, they say. I drove, so I couldn't have a beer,, but I'll definitely try it next time!!

There are counter seats (dachi, the bar seats facing the kitchen) too, so eating alone is totally doable.

There's a self-service zone as well. There's a kids' tableware set, and jangguk (clear soy soup) too haha

The seasonal porridge and pickled vegetables that come as a starter! They say these come with every menu item. That day it was abalone porridge — nutty, warm and totally delicious haha

Grilled fish came out too. Light and clean-tasting, this was delicious as well.

Mini udon and a croquette came out as well. The udon was packed full of fish cake, which I loved. My nephews and nieces ate the croquette right up haha — it was sweet potato flavored. Chewy udon noodles, slurped up to cleanse the palate before the sushi arrived.

Today's sushi and the kids' assorted sushi

Today's sushi is 10 pieces for ₩16,000, and it comes with flounder, seasonal live fish, 2 pieces of salmon, tuna, boiled shrimp, squid, scallop, egg and fried tofu.

The kids' assorted sushi is 10 pieces for ₩14,000: 2 pieces of grilled shrimp, 2 of beef, 2 of boiled shrimp, 2 of egg and 2 of fried tofu. I brought my nephews and nieces along, and there it was, kids' sushi!!!! At a sushi restaurant, honestly, with little ones,, you have to fuss over the raw fish, the wasabi and all sorts of things, so having kids' sushi on the menu made it really easy. Haha. A great sushi restaurant to bring the little ones to~~

The assorted sushi menu is really varied. Four of us came, kids included, so we ordered four different sets in total. Haha.

Today's sushi is the cheapest assorted set, but the quality was excellent. They said they only use top-grade ingredients, and you can really tell. The fish is nicely thick. Haha.

The salmon sushi was insanely good. Put a little wasabi on top and dab it in soy sauce.

Flounder sushi — simple is best. Every piece of the assorted sushi was fresh and delicious. Haha. Dip a rakkyo (pickled scallion) in soy sauce and dab it onto the squid sushi haha — eating it this way is easy and nice!!

A comfortable place whether you come as a family or on a date!!! If you want to enjoy quality sushi at a good-value price in Ilsan, I recommend Hwangje Sushi~~
