In short
Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch (FAMOUS BENNY) is a two-floor, wood-toned brunch café in Minnak-dong, Suyeong, Busan. The order here was an open sandwich piled with vegetables and avocado, a thick soup, and a market blend latte made with Peruvian, Colombian and Brazilian beans, all carried to the table by staff. Famous Benny's location first!

What kind of brunch café is Famous Benny in Gwangalli?
I went looking for somewhere to have a relaxed brunch around Gwangalli and ended up at Famous Benny. These days there are so many brunch cafés around Gwangalli that I had a hard time choosing, but after actually visiting, the food was clean and neat and the atmosphere was so nice that I wanted to write it down.

And on one side, blankets were set out separately, which felt like a thoughtful touch even down to small details like that. It seems like a place where you could stay comfortably even on a day when the weather is unpredictable or a bit chilly. The space itself is calm and wood-toned so photos come out pretty, and it's a good place to slowly chat over brunch and then coffee, so it would suit anyone looking for a date spot in Minnak-dong or Gwangalli. It's a place I'd want to revisit on a day when I want to spend time leisurely rather than just eat and leave!

Wood-toned first and second floors, with food served to the table
Famous Benny looks clean and uncluttered right from the exterior! Once you step inside, it's decorated mainly in wood tones, giving off an overall warm and calm atmosphere. The wood interior covering the walls blends naturally with the magazines and props scattered around, and even the tables and tableware matched the overall mood well. The colors came out nice in photos too, so it was good for taking pictures while having brunch.
The store is split into 1st and 2nd floors, so seating felt more spacious than expected. The 1st floor is clean too, but the 2nd floor has a slightly more relaxed atmosphere for spending time, so it could work well as a Gwangalli date course! What I especially liked was that staff brought the food straight to the table, so there was no need to go back and forth picking it up ourselves. When you order several brunch dishes, carrying plates back and forth can be a hassle, so it was nice not to deal with that.

Famous Benny's open sandwich, soup and latte together
This time at Famous Benny I ordered an open sandwich piled high with salad, a soup, and a latte. The open sandwich looked really pretty from the moment it arrived. Fresh vegetables were heaped on top, plus tomato, avocado, nuts, and even edible flowers, so it looked fresh just by looking at it! In particular, there was a generous amount of avocado, so eating it together with the vegetables was soft and nutty. The bread wasn't too hard either, just crisp enough, and went well with the ingredients.

Personally, what surprised me by being really delicious was the soup I ordered alongside. It had a very smooth, thick texture, with bits of ingredients you could chew on, so the texture was good too, and it had a nutty, rich flavor that went really well when I dipped the bread into it. It's a great combination to order together with a brunch dish, and I'd want to order it again next time.

How the market blend latte tasted at Famous Benny
Famous Benny's coffee was satisfying too. The latte was nutty and smooth, pairing easily with the brunch menu, and the store had a separate explanation about the beans on display. The market blend apparently uses Peruvian, Colombian, and Brazilian beans, described as a blend with a rich body expressing notes of cocoa and red berries. It seems like a good fit for anyone looking for a Gwangalli café that pays attention to its coffee, not just a brunch-only spot.
Above all, I liked that the atmosphere was clean and comfortable for eating rather than loud and busy. The plating was pretty and the ingredients felt fresh overall, so it's the kind of place that comes to mind when you want a meal that's light but still properly done. If you're looking for somewhere in Gwangalli to have brunch on a date or to chat leisurely with a friend, it's a good place to visit!
If you're looking for a nice-atmosphere brunch spot or café around Gwangalli, Famous Benny is worth putting on the list. Next time I want to try other brunch dishes and coffee too :)
