Yuseong family café for cinnamon chimney bread: Luonto

Luonto Sutonggol Branch is a spacious café in Yuseong, Daejeon, serving chimney bread and coffee. On a return visit with my child and husband, we had two cinnamon chimney breads, an Americano, and an iced vanilla latte while enjoying the outdoor areas and second-floor view. Luonto Sutonggol Branch is the first place I think of for a Sutonggol outing with my child.

Daejeon restaurant for spicy hagfish and cod soup: Jinppaei

Jinppaei is a retro-style pocha restaurant in Yuseong, Daejeon, serving live hagfish, grilled shellfish, and cod soup. On a business trip, I ordered Set No. 3 for its stone-plate stir-fried hagfish and cod soup, where the spicy-sweet hagfish went wonderfully with the clear, warming broth. Verdict: a comfortable choice for a late dinner and casual drinks.

Daejeon Italian restaurant for spicy rosé chicken pasta: Plate

Plate Dunsan Branch is a spacious Italian restaurant in Seo-gu, Daejeon, serving pasta and steak. I had the steak set and spicy rosé chicken-leg pasta at weekday lunch; it was hot for someone who cannot handle spice, but the rosé sauce kept me reaching for more. Verdict: a lovely choice for dates, family meals, and group dining.
